We are pretty good in the back row. Ward, Martin and mellor to start. Sutty, Donaldson, cam Smith, cuthbo can all provide cover. Actually, now I've written that I probably agree.

Cam Smith is tuurd and sutty is average. Another bit of quality would help.

I think we're fine in the Backrow TBH, maybe a decent 13, but I worry more for the outside backs if we get injuries, Hurrell will not go through the season without injury, basically due to the way he plays, and Jack Walker hasn't got a great record in the injury department and we're down to 2 wingers before the season starts.

I think this is where Gigot makes sense

Gigot can play fullback or either centre, if he’d be willing to come and fight for a place on a reasonable wage then he could be a good signing, but(!) he would not be able to block the path of Newman who is going to be a centre for Leeds for the next 10 years.

Ideally we probably want a utility back better than the two Sutcliffe's (otherwise why bother), another prop and a back row.

That's ideally of course, all depends what is available and at what cost.

I do agree that we are painfully short of quality experienced cover in the backs though.

Gigot gets a big 'NO' from me, at least based on his past off-field history and the noises coming out of Les Catalans around the time of his departure.

He is a pretty decent player - no qualms there.

But his attitude seems to stink - the last thing Leeds need is another bad apple in the dressing room. I'd imagine Sinfield won't go near him with a barge-pole if he's the wrong kind of professional.

As someone else said, no projects. We don't need the French version of Zak Hardaker.

I think if we add another quality forward then our pack will do well next season. It's a shame we didnt pick up Josh Jones when he was available.

If we were to sign Jai Field wouldn't be a bad option just as long he doesn't comand a big fee to pay for if he's still got a contract at Dragons and doesn't have cost loads on the salary cap. He can definitely cover full back which would be good to have him cover Walker and I'm sure he could cover wing as well with T.Briscoe coming back from a serious injury it wouldn't be a bad option at all the only down side it'll take our last quota spot but our squad looks pretty well covered in all options if Field signs
