I'm not a journalist just a Leeds supporter for over 40 years. Probably like you I'm getting impatient about no signing announcements and the only news is about players leaving! I'm trusting GH to deliver some quality signings (like Cuthbertson) but wish he would soon share the news with us! After waiting so long since winning the championship, the last few years have spoiled us and I want us to stay at the top by supplementing our talented inhouse players with a few quality outside recruits.

Cuthbertson, why would we want another second rower - prop ? Unless we aint signing griffin or we are letting Amor and Ambler go then the only other reason I can find to sign him is because we are not signing a centre and utilsing Delaney and Amblett there.

I'd be pleased with that. In the coming seasons we need to look at adding fresh meat into the halfs as mcguire and burrow get past it and if the opportunity to bring in class player arises we must take it.

Those who keep banging the "no announcement yet obviously means no signings" drum would do well to consider whether it only took Danny Washbrook a matter of hours to put together his move from Hull FC to Wakefield on Sunday night.

Of course it did - all clubs with chairmen who are on the ball (i.e. everyone else) have their signings wrapped up and announced on the 1st Sept

You have signed Tom briscoe's younger brother Luke, who is a stand off or FB, he should make an excellent SL player.

Think Hull (well the old management, Hetherington's?) have fooked up not keeping him.

I know he has filled in many positions but he looked a great talent a few years ago. But hasn't lived up to the early hype.

Maybe a regular run-out in a pencilled in position will help him. Obviously Agar will be all over that.

Sinfield gets away with it by having an excellent handling and kicking game. Washbrook doesn't really have either to the same degree.

Smith (Tansey mk 2) has been handed the bum steer too ...never given a run in one position (FB) to claim his own/always asked to fill in a different position each time selected.

I hope Leeds don't make Hardaker, SO (or Ablett, LF) a Tansey mk 3

I don't believe that Hardaker is a similar character to either Tansey (too big for his boots) or Smith (the grass is always greener) but only time will tell.

On the recruitment front for 2012 with Hardaker proving he could be a centre long-term and Hall and BJB on the wings with Watkins as the other centre, does it now make sense to sign a marquee centre? Would a better option be to get Senior back on a short-term contract (would he resign with the Rhinos for 2012 ?) and plan for Hardaker in the long-term? One difficulty might be the full-back position as 2012 is Webb's last season and either BJB or Hardaker could then slot in. Therefore we might still need to sign a centre.
