We'v signed 4 players, 2 exciting players from the NRL who are miles better quality than what we'v been bringing over recently. One of the best young talents in the British game, in the opinion of Warringtons Head of youth, Pete Riding, THE best young talent in the British game, and a good, solid, superleague prop with lots of big game experience.

By all accounts theres going to be another couple of quality signings coming in, the type that will take a bit more negotiating than the likes of Mullally, Achurch or Ormndroyd. For a new regime coming in, with a lot of rubbish to clear up, im happy with what theyr doing so far.

OK so we now definitely have some cap space and a quota spot free. The next couple of signings could make the difference from 2019 being bang average / troubled again, or us challenging for silverware. Garbutt was one of the few signings the old guard managed to get right overall.

Definitely needs another player in if Garbutt has gone, maybe 2. Still reckon Greenwood from KR would do a job.

He might not play many games for Fev either, with Ridyard and the Boas brothers (who both stood out in the recent PNG/England Knights game) to beat out.

no disrespect to Fev but if he cannot get a game there, then he is simply not good enough. But think you may be overestimating the talent in Fev squad.

The fact he might not play much at Fev, if at all, is no reflection on McCallum. Ridyard is likely to be Fev's captain and is arguably the best half back in the Championship. The Boas brothers are both longstanding international players who played very well in the last World Cup.

Moreover, it's one thing for, say, a wing or middle to come in on DR, quite another for a half back, let alone an 18yo with little or no first-grade experience, to come in and run a team when he doesn't know the calls etc.

They will not be sending him to fev to not play or be sat on the bench, like i saud if ge cant or deemed not goid enough to play at Fev we might aswell not bother with him, if he goes to Fev he will be playing. Ridyard may be captain may be a goid championship player, but thats all he ever has been and ever likly to be.

McClelland will be on loan to someone we know that much, if he's not at Fev anyway.

You seem to be suggesting that players are "sent" to Fev, rather than being offered. That's never the impression I've got of the relationship, and indeed, Fev fans were told that we had turned down a number of offers of players on DR from Leeds last season. I think that's partly why the DR relationship has worked so well (a point Rovers officals have made repeatedly).

That said, with the recently-reported news that Duffy seems set to leave Fev for Leigh, it remains to be seen whether Ridyard will still be at the club.

Perhaps he could go and join Lilley at the Bulls?

OK sent/offered, we shall use your definition, if he is offered to Fev he will not be going there to be not in the side. Of course we are all assuming he will be sent on loan, he may start off with 5-6 games in academy to get his RL skill back up before going anywhere, he may bypass dual reg all together and go straight into first team squad, we simply do not know how good he is yet. Yes he has not played open age pro RL but has played open age Scottish pro union.

Our two main halfbacks have just signed fulltime deals so I don't think we need him. Bringing in loan players can disrupt a squad so no thanks this time. We'll keep Lilley I reckon when his deal runs out.

Agreed, it seems to have worked pretty well for both sides, I think because there at least appears to be a bit of give and take from both sides.
