I think we just seem more cramped for space over on that left side when attacking, he could've had 2 against London in Bailey's testimonial but Moon and Ablett finished them off with all 3 guys basically bunched up together over there. Even last night he's had to really squeeze into the corner to get his two scores. Moon in one aspect does get Hall the ball, but not with as much space to work with and often see's Hall have to pop back inside or risk the touch line.'"
Moon carries the ball in one hand and drifts, Watkins carries the ball in two hands and runs straight. The offload for Briscoe's try was out of two hands into Briscoe's chest, for Hall's two tries the ball came out of the back of Moon's hand, the second one was straight into his face. It came off for Moon last night, but you don't teach kids to carry the ball in two hands and run straight for nothing. Hall sent Moon clear with a very nice piece of centre play of his own.
I think Moon has it all, but the flick out of the back of the hand should be a technique used sparingly. Having said that I don't want to criticise, I thought Moon did play really well last night, and he did release Hall with some good passes on several occasions. They worked really well together.
Watkins hands are very, very good. He is a joy to watch. I don't really understand why the England RU setup are looking to RL props to fill their centre positions.

| Hall to centre could work, however when we have 2 of the best centres currently in British game why would we.

| The assist for Moon's try was quality, as he takes the ball into contact he's carrying the ball in his left hand, and with 2 Catalan players on his back manages to transfer the ball into right hand, and release Moon. Very reminiscent of Kieth Senior. Although, we all know he's a back rower all day long.

| With a Senior or Watkins they would run straight and leave more space for his winger to score. Moon ran towards the corner flag and Hall was still able to score despite this reduced space.
One shouldn't confuse Moon getting Hall the ball as a good thing, they should take into account what space Hall has left once he gets it.....it's often not great.

| Doesn't defend well enough to play anywhere other than the wing. He's a grab tackler, rather than one who puts his shoulder in to the ball carrier.
You can get away with that out on the wing, but not further infield.

If there's a winger in the league who needs less space to get over the try line than Ryan Hall then I don't know who it is. The partnership works.

That is true about Hall needing less space than others, but it doesn't mean it's all alright. It's a fine line between small space and no space and Hall (who is one of the best wingers at being alert and strong enough to keeping himself away from the sideline) has felt the need to cut back inside a lot more under the Moon partnership.
The partnership does work, but it could be better.
