I went to watch the Batley v Fev game today and it certainly looked like Batley didn't fancy the middle 8's because they were appalling for 80 minutes
Fev totally battered them into submission

Positions 1 and 2 are Leigh and London
Positions 3 and 4 is a shootout between Halifax,Batley. Bulls and Fev

Featherstone Rovers are the bolters with 2 games to go but they have to play Halifax away and then play the Bulls at home so that is a big ask and they need 2 wins to make the 4

I'm gonna go for a top 4 of
Leigh
London
Bulls
Halifax (just over Fev)

How are these teams looking, potential to cause leeds any problems?

I suppose it's tricky to call. 12 months ago I don't anybody would've said Leigh would finish dead last in the Middle 8's behind Halifax and Sheffield. I think they were quite naive the way the played in the Middle 8's last year so will be interesting how they approach it this year and if they've learnt any lessons.

In terms of the SL teams, we are looking in as better/decent knick as the others recently. You'd have to wonder what losing their appeal will do to the Salford mindset. Koukash came out the other day and said he might walk away, not exactly great to hear before the Middle 8's campaign and only 1 win in their last 5 and I think they'll be the SL team to be in the Million Pound Game.

IMO Leigh will definitely make the MPG at least this time around, but it would need each of the SL sides to lose the key games to allow them to finish in the top 4 above any of them

From what i have seen this season from all of the sides involved in the middle 8's then I can't see a SL side getting relegated

As a Leigh fan I can't see anyone going up either, however we are playing to a completely different structure to last season - playing through a good set of forwards and nowhere near as as expansive, a lot more game management.

Don't see Leeds being in the mix, but reckon we will give one of the SL teams a game (don't know why but hope we get hkr at home)

ATEOTD, don't think we have the overall pace/ruck speed to make it to the promised land - but yo never know in a one off game if we get there

I think it will be Salford in the MPG and it will be close. However, the rest of the games could be heavy wins for SL sides.

Forget what ColD says..We are prepared and the results reflect that. The question is are you prepared and is everyone back to full fitness?I wouldn't want to see us playing against the excuses you have had all season.

If it comes down to it the ref will be Hicks and you will totally miss the ball over the line with seconds to go only for Hicks to give the try cos you got eye contact with the ball

And i have offered up no excuses personally. we have been abysmal and my feelings have been under no circumstances should we be middle 8s not to mention possibly bottom of the pile. Facts are though we haven't had the players we have now available all year so i am more than a little confident moving forward that we should be blowing the championship sides away and not be involved in the MPG but we will see. Good to see you are confident, maybe this is the year you reach the holy grail icon_smile.gif

This squad should be way too good for anything they will come across in the middle 8's - I expect them to save McDermott's blushes and win every game.

How about them saving their own blushes?

If they don't perform in the middle 8s virtually all of them they will still have a job on the same T&Cs - McDermott will not icon_biggrin.gif

There is no way we will fail to get in top 3 of the middle 8's. 3 wins out of last 4 and we thru the defeat to widnes away. Be hard against the pies but we will batter kr. Then the middle 8's we will beat the 4 championships side with ease. That is 8 points in the bag and pick 2 up from the 3 super league points which we will. Bring on 2017 then I say. So cmon people it's time to get behind the boys and hopefully we get a decent hb for next season and things will start to look sweet again.

Just got to hope now that we have nearly everyone back that they stay fit especially Segeyaro. No coincidence that the only game we did lose out of our last 4 was the one with no recognised hooker. Had Segryaro gotten here in time or we still had Falloon we probably would have won against Widnes (and still had a slight chance of overtaking Wakefield)
