To all those people who critisized this team...tonight's for you.

| It was just totally needless. The guy was too pumped up after what was initially a great hit. Thought the ref descision was right - he just needed to cool off. What a headcase.

Not least to their own bodies. I have seen plenty of broken bodies (including my own) as a result of poorly executed shoulder sharges.
There's also the fact that the action is fairly telegraphed, and the potential receiver can see what's about to happen and avoid it fairly easily with a bit of footwork.

I'll assume not. The only consistency out of the Red Hall Disciplinary is their inconsistency.'"
I don't believe that is why Sinfiled was annoyed and looked at the ref. check out the "tackle" that felled him in the first place. I'm pretty sure he was tripped.
I couldn't understand why he was hacked off to begin with, then I watched it a few times. The camera just catches it.

| Meh. Silly move, but not the worst thing that will have been done around the tackle area at the weekend. Silly, petulant, quite possibly worthy of a 1 game ban, but let's not get our panties too much in a bunch over it.
I should imagine Tony Smith will have largely been annoyed at the needless penalty. Players who can turn their good moments (and it was a momentum-giving tackle) into penalties are probably rarely in the coach's good books afterwards.

Yes, I think you are right, I initially thought there was more forearm in it than there actually was.

Again, I think you are right there again.
Cheers fellas.

Having also seen the Bridges one again (via last night's SLS) I agree with the general point that it was deserving of referral to the disciplinary but I still wouldn't send a player off for that without it properly connects.

| Quote: Omar Little "Rule one of precendents - the facts and issues have to be substantially the same...rlBailey/Fasavalu was not foul play because Fasavalu ducked into the tacklerlQuote: Omar Little "]
In any case where has this idea that Shoulder charges can't also be high tackles come from. It has no basis in the laws of the game which state that it is foul play if "when effecting or attempting to effect a tackle makes contact with the head or neck of an opponent intentionally, recklessly or carelessly".
In Bailey/Fasavalu there was no intentional, reckless or careless contact with the head. I don't accept that as being the same for Moa.
I disagree this is exactly why it was a reckless tackle. Moa could see how tall Rinaldi was and therefore should have adjusted his technique accordingly. He made no attempt whatsoever to bring his shoulder below Rinaldi's head height which to me is at best careless and more probably reckless. [EDIT ]
Also on this basis wouldn't any high tackle on Rob Burrow be fair game as anyone else would have been fine?!
Why then are high tackles constantly still given when a player ducks into a tackle, granted it is hard to judge. Both cases are a shoulder barge which connected to the head, one was a red one was not.
You've got me there, I'm going off personal experience and the fact that I hadnt really seen a shoulder barge, even to the head penalised
He could have done, but having the choice of hitting him, or adjusting on the fly and probably missing most players would hit him ten times out of ten. A guilty plea no doubt makes his sentence less severe
Of course burrow is not fair game. The point I was trying to say was had it hit a forward or someone who would not have been ko'd it would not have been a red.

I have no idea - they're not really reckless, careless or intentional

Not sure about "dangerous contracts" - which I think may be similar to the one the Bulls signed with Iestyn Harris.
I expect "dangerous contact" could cover anything with an unacceptably high risk of infection.

| Saw two more simmilair incidents this weekend.
Westwood on webb, which webby was wrongly penalised for thanks to the touch judge.
Sammut also did one in tonights game but was penalised with help from a touch judge.
Both should get 1 match bans. Refs should be on the look out for this as it is something that has come to the fore, a bit like the grapple tackle a few seasons back
