As already said many times on this forum and likely this thread, We need a good half back that can control the game. A back up hooker/utility player would be nice but can't see it when we have Burrow and Lilley.

I am glad Achurch has gone and that Hardaker doesn't seem to be coming back. Surely we must have the cash to get the 7 we need. As for an explosive backrower I can't see it being a priority when we have so many backrowers already. Unless we find a way to remove one or both of JJb and Delaney we simply have too many (Ward,Ferres,Ablett,JJB,Delaney,) and While if Sutty stays at FB there is an argument for Ward to move to LF I still think it's unlikely signing.

Think it is a bit like jjb this year. Hoping to have him back for the start of the season but might well miss first couple of games.

In terms of signings I'd hate to see any more Aussies, as others have said we have too many already. In terms of second rowers I'd hope if Jjb/Delaney etc can take up some of the donkey work then we might see some more punch from one of Ward or Ferres.

I can't see us signing a half, and only time will tell if that's the right desicion. It will be interested to see how we go with Segeyaro from the off, hopefully providing spark but ensuring guys like Walking don't have to tackle themselves into the ground to accommodate Burrow, who can also go back to what he does best, providing impact.

Big season for Sutty, who needs to nail down a position, Baldwinson who needs to be given a shot, as well as Cuthbo who needs to probe more than a one year wonder, and Walters who I've always liked. Add in continued development from the likes of Lilley, Golding, Handley, Smith, Hallas, Jordan Roberts etc and I'm happy to take next year as a building year as long as we show improvement.

I'll debate with people and I'll happily throw an insult if one has been thrown at me first. Unlike you with your constant "I thought you were more intelligent etc." replies. You think your opinion is so much better for some reason and I'm not the only person who has said that about you and then you call others out about respecting opinions when no one on here disrespects others views more than yourself.

Well he often finds himself on the bench or playing small minutes with few carries, sometimes even being left out the team.
I just think its time for him to step up and become our pack leader, the guy who takes the tough carries and who gets us going downfield.

I see Singleton as an enthusiastic follower rather than a leader. And that's not meant as a criticism. At his best he does a great job and brings energy. I think he's been a little flat this year, don't know if that's just me though.

Singleton's problem to me, is that he's never really developed physically. He's still a good 10-20lbs too light IMO. He has a big frame, but seems to struggle to put size on. If he could add some more physicality to his game to go with his enthusiasm he could well become one of the best props in SL.

He needs to add some strength to his legs as I see it, as he doesn't make enough post-contact meters

I think the biggest area Singleton needs to improve on is consistency. Can be really damaging with and without the ball one week and completely anonymous the next.

He can run a clever line or two - we don't have too many who do that well.

If we go into next year with the squad as it is now and the same coaching setup I can't see anything other than mid-table mediocrity. Its all very well players and coaches talking about working hard and the like, but that's what they were saying after every dire performance this year.

It would be worse than mid table IMO. I just hope what I was hearing yesterday is totally wrong, as there was a thread on here quite a while ago about us repeating the bulls which got laughed at. Not sure if that bad, but there is some desperation at the moment up top at the club, if these comments are true.

Desperation in terms of what? If its at the very top of the club (i.e. GH) then its his job to make changes. Unless he's hamstrung due to the building works, which I could understand if they were open about it.

if it's a money issue someone wants sacking. given the attendances, prize money, sponsorship etc over the last few years. it's hardly been spent on the players.
last season should have given the top people a kick up the , as that's what happens when you let a squad get old and stale

The rhinos have become very admin/support heavy - the sheer number of people involved in running the club and the coaching/conditioning set up is huge - this is a £10m business after all not Unilever.

Huge difference between us & the Odsal pretenders we make a profit on a regular basis.
Make 2/3 signings & hopefully clear out this Coaching set up we are back as top 4 challengers imo.

The Bulls not owning their own ground is ultimately what brought them down. Similar to YCCC but the Bulls did not have a benefactor like Graves to save them.

Going with what we have, minus Hardaker. No surprise there then.

A cheap HB will be signed. Lui, Wood or Soward or

GH can hardly trot out his pre-season spiel from the last decade "We have the best squad ever at Leeds, and we believe we are well placed to win more trophies because of it" or whatever if we don't shake the squad up more. Otherwise the truth would be "Last year was a disaster. Hopefully the senior players have finished their year-long holiday and are ready to aim for 8th".

Any signing wouldn't train until december or Jan if they were an international so there isn't a huge rush

We may very well still sign someone, but around now is when most players worth having have been tied up. We are now shopping in the bargain bin or if your lucky star player X bonking team mate Y's missus therefore they becomes available or some decent player gets sacked from the NRL and seeks redemption in SL.

Lets see if we get lucky.
