| Going to the Boulevard used to be incredibly difficult.
Ugh I'm having John Gallagher flashbacks.

| A "best of" Hull team would've given any counterpart a rough ride, especially at the Boulevard on a cold night. Zero doubt.

They gave the 82 Kangaroos a very tough night. Nuff said.

Think Kemble and Richie Barnett (Kiwi) are a good shout for fullback in that side too.

Not pleasant. Dropping a bomb behind the posts to hand victory to Hull, just a week after a last minute winner at Cas the week before.

No Sammy Lloyd
For a hotbed if RL Both Hull sides relied in kiwis and Cas lads, Norton Lloyd Millward Lockwood and a faire few others

Looked the nuts first half of season awesome game against Kangaroos in 90. One spear tackle on confidence shot, and he was never an RL fullback, his game always linking into the line with some gaps and space. If we used him as a centre he would have probably made it.

If you're picking players at their peak Gregory would be in the conversation I'd think and apologies if he has been picked earlier - to me he was an extra prop playing 7 with all the natural gifts of a brilliant scrum half and of course , you had Ellery Hanley, the best player I have ever seen in my 50 plus years as a fan, wow - as a Hull fan I am slightly jealous but what a game that would be- the best Hull team against the best Leeds 13- who is having Lee Crooks?'"
Thought I’d have a go at a team in my time with my blue and amber specs on and I’ve picked you as well.

I'd have a few of those my all time Hull team to face Leeds would be:
Kemble
O'Hara
Leuulai
R Barnett Snr
G Bray (of course)
Topliss
Sterling
Skerrrett
Swain
Crooks
Ellis
Crane
Johnny Whiteley
All Hull fans laud Norton as the greatest loose forward but I'd have Whiteley Crane and Jason Smith ahead of him and I mention Johnny Whiteley out of respect for the opinions of people who saw him and the others, they all pick him as the finest, so I am not going to argue. I think Richie Barnett senior is one of the finest and hardest backs I have ever seen and what a pair of centres they would be . Schofield would have been in but Leeds got his best years , as we did Crooksy,(Cas not involved ) so you have him and we'll keep Lee!
A special mention to Willie Manu, Lee Jackson , Gareth Carvell (yes really) Paul Rose, Albert Kelly, Colin Best, Jake Connor and Karl Harrison, all worthy of including - sorry lads can only be 13!

Good but never lived up to his potential, I thought he'd kick on at Leeds but he never commanded a game, I'm not saying he was soft but he lacked that certain hard edge that the great loose forwards had.
