Poor signing especially for 150k but he’s probably no worse than Myler, he might lift you to 7th or at a push 6th but no more, he’ll probably end up the same as Watkins and be shoved out of the door after a few poor performances

What we can say is this will be the side that KS built more and more, so anyone with an agenda there will at least have some real evidence in 2020.

Lui is a brave signing IMO. Gale also for different reasons - we’ve just lost previous captain and England shoe-in to knee injury; and our only other representative quality player has been busted up for years.

They must get Merrin’s replacement right if he does leave.

£150k for a top tier domestic halfback is a bargain in today's market

Give any half a dominant pack and they will look better. Drinkwater was talk of the town last year behind the Catalan pack but has been abysmal at Hull KR. With proven fitness and a free transfer I'd have been happy enough with Gale, but paying the quoted £150k for a player we gave away is shocking. No disputing that he ran us ragged in certain matches but they ultimately counted for nothing in the bigger picture. Like I've already said I hope I'm entirely wrong, but I'm not at all convinced.

I wouldn’t worry too much about his recent injury history. One was a knee clash with Pauli Pauli (very unlucky) and the other was a snapped Achilles which can happen to anyone. I don’t think we need to bring the appendicitis into in, it’s hardly going to happen to him again...

Seriously? He came through when Burrow, McGuire and Sinfield were establishing themselves. 3 of the clubs greats. He wasn't going to get in ahead of them so the club let him go. Like the signing or not, he's gone and pretty well for himself.

There's plenty of negative comments about this signing but at least try to make it something relevant

Have to say after watching that medical video the club posted on a well known video website, I have no issues with Gale at all.

At the start of 2019 we had Lolohea and Myler as halfbacks with an inexperienced Mcelland as back up.

We will start the 2020 season with Lui and Gale as halfbacks, with Championship hardened Mcelland as back up.

Seriously. Sinfield was playing 6 vice 13 and Burrow was seeing more game time at 9 so there was room for Gale if the management had the desire to keep him. I cant think of any other player Leeds have released and then paid big money to bring back, so yes maybe I am wrong and he'll be an outstanding signing. Personally I'd rather they' sorted the pack out first.

When Gale left us he played in the lower leagues at Doncaster for 2 years, he wasn’t Super League ready. He’s certainly been a late developer, good on him for continuing to improve as a player throughout his career.

Very happy with this, Gales exactly the type lf half we need and light years ahead of Myler. The injury risk is there but its a risk worth taking imo...Especially when we'v got a young talent like McCllellend waiting in the wings.

I'm actually quite enthusiastic about Gale joining, more so than I was when it was just rumoured to be honest. He seem genuinely excited about the move and if he can get back to anything like he is just the sort of player we have been lacking, him and lei could be a great partnership, Gale is very good at getting quick and decent ball to the outside backs and in Hurrell and Newman we have two centres who will thrive on good early ball. He is also a very good organiser and a clever kicker.
