The wages in RU are utterly unsustainable even with their much higher income. To compete you've got to be willing and able to sustain big losses every year. Pro RU like many sports is not a 'business' in any normal sense. If Leeds saw that and backed off sobeit.

I don't pay much attention to premiership RU, but last time I looked attendances were brutally the she as super league's. I know there are other factor's like a better TV deal, and additional income from what was the Heineken cup, but it feels like there isn't the base for all cost unless the trickle down from internationals is significant.

Having said that Wasps were pulling over 20k per home game a couple of seasons ago after they moved to Coventry and Bath are sold out every home game -but the ground is very small. The international game though is on a different planet. I guess it's a bit like cricket in that regard.

If Yorkshire Carnegie move away from Headingley could we see the revival of a lower league RL club playing out of Headingley? Would be great to see Bramley playing in League One on dual reg with Leeds.

I know there were many discussions about the direction and running of the club, but it is still sad that the professional game is albeit defunct in this area.

The funding for everything below the top flight had been slashed recently, the virus situation won't help finances, Saracens going down may bounce straight back, I suspect after the end of the next season, whenever that is, the top flight will be effectively ring fenced.
