| What was all that nonsense about him having signed for Leeds and we loaned him back to Leigh. Are we now loaning him to Bradford?
It could be that Leeds have agreed a first option for him in 2017 but it does rather sound that both he and his agent cannot be trusted as they appear to be leaking different stories all over the place.

| [del[/delGood evening Rhinos' fans.
Having watched Ryan develop over the past three years at Leigh, the lad does have some excellent qualities. He has outstanding pace, an eye for the half chance, and is (has been? ) a great lad, who has always been willing to learn,a nd to engage with the fans - especially the youngsters.
I believe he has earned a crack at Super League, through his excellent performances in the Championship. However, the problem for me is one of where would he fit into a SL team? He is definitely not (up to now) a playmaker. He is an opportunist, who is devastating at backing up, seizing interceptions etc, but has not yet been able to step up to the mark and dictate play. That may be because he has been operating alongside Martyn Ridyard, who is an outstanding playmaker - who, incidentally was injured for most of the Qualifiers, thus exposing Ryan to full responsibility at half back. Ryan wasn't the only one in our team who disappointed at the end of the season.
Apparently, Huddersfield had been considering Ryan for next season - suggesting he probably isn't yet a Rhinos player - as a full back. Other prominent critics consider that is where he would possibly be effective in SL. It's a position that would afford him opportunity and space, to showcase his qualities - but I can't think that you would be looking to him as a replacement for Zak Hardaker!

Don't get me wrong about Ryan - I think he deserves a crack at SL, from his achievements to date, in the Championship. I just don't think it will work for him at half back. That said, he has listened, learned and progressed a lot at Leigh, and Leeds do have an excellent record of developing young players - albeit maybe younger than Ryan is now.
As for the current goings on, I'm surprised that/if Ryan is 'behaving badly'. I always found him a great young man, who would often go the extra mile for supporters, kids and disadvantaged people, often at his own expense. It could be that his agent is pulling the strings, or that Ryan is believing his own publicity. One thing's for sure - he's been publicly linked with over half the teams in SL, these past two years, and seems to get even more publicity than the top SL stars!

| his current style of plays seems to be a mirror of how McGuire was when he started in the first team. we now appear to be lost on the field without him so maybe Ryan can develop into a playmaker like McGuire has?

| The whole episode stinks of Gary Hetherington, remember the Joel Moon signing!!
The appearance on tv by Brierley was stage managed, that's fact.
There's a lot gone on in this saga and IF it all comes to light will not enhance many peoples reputations.

I would be pretty disappointed if GH has gone all secret and under cover for so long over a unproven player playing in the Championship. A lot been said, and a lot of 'in the knows' spouting all sorts you don't know what to believe, so we will see.All will come to light soon i suppose.
