Leeds may have to think about their options and make a tough decision in the not too distant future.'"

| If fit, Just let buderus play every game from the start, you won't be dissopointed! not diskins fault leeds signed the best hooker of his generation, or is that a myth created by numerous aussie & SOO selectors who also made him captain? Take the blue & amber goggles off FFS you might even see the duck & scoot comment on cute little robby was right too, he fits in now & again but I would never expect him to to take a game hanging in the balance by the scruff of the neck, which is what Leeds might need more often than not nowadays.

Go away. You talk too much common sense for this board. A balanced view is not accepted here.

| As long as both stay fit Buderus and Diskin will be in the Leeds 17 for the rest of this season - Shouldn't imo but will. As for the Burrow debate it would have seemed unthinkable at the end of last season to have a discussion like this taking place. However he isnt offering enough imo, his scoots have been found out and have rarely worked his season. Sinny 6, McGuire 7, Eastwood 13 will be good to see, but again will Bluey really leave out a high profile player? Unfortunately I cant see it.

| Made the point on Burrow after the WCC (a game in the balance) when he only passed once & did not have the vision to open good opposition up, I was shot down in flames on here for dareing to call our little robby. He's good at what he does but so is Orford, i'd know who i,d rather have doing what he's good at.

| Seems the views on Buderus are somewhat polarised.
FWIW, going home yesterday, I remarked that the team seemed to "click" better after Diskin came on.
That doesn't make Buderus rubbish and it doesn't make Diskin into Jesus but, for me, Buderus hasn't lived up to the hype so far and I wonder if he fits the dynamic of the Leeds team.
For me, the jury's still out.
But, as I've been away for a while and missed a few games, I defer to all you experts.

I expect him to get better and better to the point where those numpties championing Diskin will look a little silly.'"
Not really. My argument all along has been that he was an unnecessary signing. When he got injured last year we didn't lose again for the remainder of the season. His performances previous to his injury were sketchy at best. We basically won SL without his input.
No matter what he does from now until the end of his contract he will still have been an unnecessary signing as it's been proved we can win SL without him.
There is no doubting that he's an NRL great and better than Diskin but I just wish he'd shown us 80% of what he can do and so far in 14 months he hasn't (ok, there have been glimpses).
Burrow has never been the kind of scrum half that controls a game and likewise Mcguire in the stand off role. Sinfield has always done that job which is why we struggle with him out. If we'd never had Sinfield then there would be some validity in not having samey half backs but it's worked for a number of years and will probably owrk again this year.

But will it work for the next 2 years after?
That is more what Burrow should be judged on now, rather than this season.

Coaches should not just coach the team but improve players weak areas. Have McClennan and Smith done this with our half backs?

I thought we were talking about Burrow, and the fact that he never was an organizing scrum half but relied on Sinfield for the job, as you put above?
On that respect, if that was a weakness then neither coach has improved it then.
But as Sinfield starts to get a little older over next couple of years, and picks up more injuries, which he is doing more often, then the whole club needs to try and move away from this absolute reliance on him. I have maintained it for the last 4 years, that no other club in Super League is so reliant on one individual, and nothing is changing.
A way to get round that is sort out the half backs situation.

McGuire has always been a better player than Burrow and has also improved over recent seasons as his pace has dropped, indeed one could argue that McGuire is now, along with Sinfield, one of the first names pencilled into the team sheet.
Burrow on the other hand is a conundrum that will take some solving, what does he bring to the side?
Kicking game?
Creativity?
Direct running?
Not really any of the above, he has been a great servant to Leeds but he hasn't improved in any of the above aspects of his game.

Nope, with the possible exception of McGuire's kicking game which has improved significantly IMO. Take Sinfield out of the side and both still look like headless chickens.

Whose fault is that? The much heralded Tony smith or the much lauded Brian McClennan?

That is true but even with Sinfield on the pitch we look like headless chickens at times too, especially near to our opponents try line.
Just think back to the last 5 minutes of the Bulls game when Sinfield was still on the pitch.
