Nah, Superman is perfect.

Hard word is Brent Webbs kryptonite etc.

But he does spin many 'webbs'..........so -knows.

Soon we will be dancing the Fandango FROM 2004,TO DO WHAT THIS CLUB'S DONE,IF THATS NOT GREATNESS THEN I DONT KNOW WHAT IS. JAMIE PEACOCK:

I have read another players assessment of him and he said he hates the cold weather.I gather it was rather cold yesterday,so maybe that had something to do with it

It was certainly windy. Not sure it was all that cold. But then I'm not sure I'd envy having to return all those massive, wind-assisted clearing kicks into the teeth of a gale all through the 2nd half. He was having to drop very deep to field them. Pretty thankless task. He generally got our sets started on the 30 or 40 for most of the final quarter. Not sure how much more you could ask.

Agree it was tough, but his improvement in the final quarter was mainly down to some pretty fearsome Leeds defence, pinning Salford back deep in their own half.

Yes, it was, but the kicks were certainly not having too much trouble pushing him back to his own line, which makes for a long and wearying afternoon for a full back in that wind.

Don't get me wrong i still think Webb has plenty to offer, especially as he seems to have better mobility this year compared so the stupid 2/3m forward passes from last year have all but gone.

But by anyone standards yesterday was a poor effort, yes it was a hard day and yes it was freezing facing into the wind but that doesn't mean he should just jog the ball back up. He's never been much of a speedster for returning the ball, but when meters where hard to come by in the second half he should have been returning the ball at full pelt. One set we had Salford kicking from nearly behind their own try line, yet Webb got no where near half way with his return.

If fitness was an issue, then the back 3 could or should have been rotating like they do in plenty of other games.

Where it's kicked from is part of the equation, where did Webb actually field the kick though?

Not saying he had a great game, just that constantly sprinting back into the wind off long kicks is going to sap anyone's energy a bit. If the back 3 weren't rotating, does Webb take the full responsibility for that?

They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old. Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn, at the going down of the sun and in the morning – WE WILL REMEMBER THEM:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_32481.gif

Have to say that it took us longer to get from Chorley to Salford's ground on Sunday than it does to get to HQ! The problem is the Trafford Centre. It is built on the wrong side of Manchester - no rail links, pi55 poor motorway and queueing for miles on the approach!

Parked at Eccles ARLFC and the walk didn't kill us. Thought as mentioned previously that Clarkson was inexcuseable, Webb didn't want to take the collision but opted many a time to give a pass to an unsuspecting winger. Having said that, we did what we had to do - win! Sinny kicking out on the full at the start of the second half was also an odd one as they kicked straight down the middle during the first half. Also, where was the clock? I was amazed when I heard ten, nine .... towards the end of the game.

Oh yes - they ran out of coffee before the game even started!

The traffic was so bad because of the Manchester Marathon being on at the same time. Many of the back roads in the area were closed. And as to the clock, it is right next to the scoreboard.

Another reason I need to go to Specsavers or take up refereeing!! Speaking of which, why did Ganson penalise Moore (I think) when he passed the ball after he shouted held when we have seen in games previous that when the player didnt hear the call he just plays the ball instead of conceeding a penalty?

and to all you red's we enjoyed our day out at the new stadium and I hope you start to get the crowds in. Perhaps as you were plugging the "varsity match" do what Huddersfield do and have special deals for students.

Richard Moore passed the ball off the floor, which is still a penalty because there's no doubt that the tackle had been completed. The new rule is only for when the ref shouts held. Thanks for your comments and glad you enjoyed the day. I really hope we start to get the crowds in, but people only want to watch a winning team. We can only get a winning team by having more money to spend on players, can only get more money if we get more crowds. Its a vicious circle.
