| Another great game. We just came out the wrong side. I agree, we lost that rather than Wire won it. We got the forward pass call, but the sin bin essentially changed the game. Never a yellow - and if it was there should have been a mandatory HIA. We should have also got the tackle in the air on Connor. More poor officiating - and Thaler is the best there is!
Some costly mistakes, mainly Lumb unfortunately. I'd give him a break for a couple of weeks and give ECW a run. And the last tackle penalty from Holroyd was a killer. All fine margins.
Main thing is, the pack is now very competitive, which gives us the platform. Connor, Croft and Miller starting to look more dangerous. Saying it every week now, but Palaasia and Jenkins look really good. Palaasia probably MoM for me, followed by Connor. And the workrate of Bentley and O'Connor is incredible. Just a shame O'Connor isn't more of a running 9 to complete the spine.
I thought the top 4 would run away with it, but actually other than Cas, Hudds and Salford, it looks like it will be very competitive. Us, Hull and Wakey will take some points off the big teams.

Robbed. Great game and played well but feel totally robbed
Sorry, but your first try was miles forward, Currie didn't do anything to affect Connor with that knock on, he stood his ground. You also got away with a massive knock on I think it was your winger? So to say 'robbed' is comical. I agree with most of that. I don`t think we were robbed but Tom Grant is a terrible ref something I referenced at the start of this thread.Didn`t see the massive knock on by our winger and did think Lumb had the ball pushed out of his hand in a 3 man tackle that we challenged and Thaler got wrong. The sinbinning changed the game in your favour I felt and was probably the right call albeit farcical nowadays. Grant not knowing the rules at the end not that we would have scored but still you would think a ref would know how many players should be in a scrum at that stage.

| How we bounce back the next few weeks will define our season. Narrow defeats are still defeats and we are currently have a 50% win record, that’s not play off/contender std.
Our Attack is too blunt we should have had 20 points in first half last night we simply are not scoring enough try’s.
Our next 4 are all winnable and we should really be looking at some comfortable wins and score plenty of points

Agree with all of that. Really is a huge shame that we lost Sivo without him playing a competitive game. Feel sure that we'd have a couple more wins on the board if he were fit. Lumb is clearly the future (he's pretty good now) and ECW should have a part to play, but there is no real way of filling the giant hole in attacking threat that Sivo’s injury has left.

This is not something that should be swept under the carpet.

So, a narrow defeat to opponents with their entire three quarter line out injured seems to be greeted with optimism by the fans. It shows what meagre fare we’ve got used to recently. If we had some dynamic game changers waiting to enter the fray I might feel a little more positive myself, but this is a game we should have been winning. Better than last season, but I just don’t see where the regular and necessary future gains will be coming from. Better than watching a passive Rohan Smith coached team, but still a troubling outcome for me.
I think the optimism comes from the fact that our forwards have competed with 3 of the best sides in the comp and have matched them. Yes we still have work to do in attack but that seemed to be coming together a bit last night. Wire were missing their entire three quarter line which has to be taken into account but we lost our star winger without him playing a game and lost Croft mid game when we were 8 points in front. For the 1st time in a long while the green shoots are appearing. Keep the faith.

That’s two points that have slipped through your fingers. Good to see that your team is improving though.

That’s two points that have slipped through your fingers. Good to see that your team is improving though. We are improving, and as I say it's heartening to see what we do in training manifest itself come game day. On the refereeing, it's an important point, much wider than one game. This isn't disagreeing with his interpretation of a rule,; it's a clear case of him either not knowing the rule or choosing to disregard it. He'd sent Palasia to the bin only some 6 or 7 minutes earlier. As they are so very keen to tell the players, there is no mitigation for his decision. That there were 10 seconds left is irrelevant. Do referees have a difficult job? Of course they do, but they really lay themselves wide open to justified criticism with fundamental issues like this. The powers that be need to get a grip, and quickly.

| Some of the negativity is crazy. Yeh we make some mistakes and look clunky in attack at times. But just remember what we've been watching for the last 2 seasons (and more....).
I'm loving watching this pack compete with the best there is. I'm actually looking forward to, rather than dreading, playing the top teams. We're undoubtedly top 6 contenders.
And we have a proper coach, who knows the game and knows how to coach and prepare a team. I would suggest we all enjoy it while he's here, cos it might not be for long.

| Whilst loosing the last 10 seconds is frustrating the main problem is ourselves. Yes the ref made an error but we could and probably should have managed it better. Yes the yellow was imo soft but that's the way it's being reffed all year so no problems there (though don't like how players are overreacting to small incidents in hope of getting players in greater trouble). A week off now and hopefully some games we should be winning

| Disappointing of course but after a loss at least nowadays there's a foundation to build on, and I think if we do this a little bit better or this goes our way we'd have won. Whereas before, I was watching us lose and thinking, I don't even know where we go from here. I don't understand how we're even attempting to build a consistent team. Now it's very obvious, defence and pack is solid for the most part. If the attack gets a bit better, we'll win quite a few.
Also, we're certainly not missing Frawley or Ackers, keep them far away from the squad. I can't watch anymore of Frawley's kicks that remind me of pre-match warm-ups for the backs.
