| Thought Kirke was excellent last night along with Kylie, another player that has come in for some stick this week.
Another big performance required next week from some players who are obviously playing injured atm but the desire within this squad should never be underestimated.

| Kirke played brilliant last night compared to the previous dross he usually serves up.
Having said that he only did what a forward of his size should be doing week on week.
Let`s not get too carried away.
If you are poor every game and you put in an above average performance every now and then you will look flippin brilliant.
All in all one of our top forwards last night.
Thought Zac was MOM though.

| If Kirke was poor every week he wouldn't be selected on a weekly basis by three successive SL winning coaches

Oh here we go again.
I have no idea what these coaches see in Kirke TBH
His stats week on week are a disgrace yet he still gets picked.
Last night he showed why for the rest of the season I have no idea how he gets in.
If he puts in another good performance next week I will be delighted.

Just what I thought when reading another post unable to give him credit without adding criticism at the same time.

Indeed so.
I've been a bit Kirke-critical up to now but, hey, credit where it's due, last night he made some bloody good drives, gained hard metres and also kept himself busy in the tackling department.
The young fella has potential.

This week: Four keys to a Rhinos win in the WCC:Transparent Backgrounds/Waldorf.gif |

| Given a less impressive than usual performance from Peacock, he was arguably the best front rower on the pitch on either side last night.
Good leg drive in contact taking the ball forward, some good one-on-one hits (a hit and wrap that put Puletua down on his own sticks in the memory), decent kick pressure and reading the game well for the interception.

Peacock was immense apart from that one knock on.
Another pearler for Gilder.

The stats you see that is. Less than 10% of the ones available to the coaches for the record. Having said that, it would be nice if people made a few more judgements on what they saw rather than waiting for the stats to "back them up".

| Happy to hold my hand up and say this.....
I thought Kirke's quality of work at Wigan was good, and said so, even though the quantity was, as usual, poor. At Warrington I thought his work rate was much better than his usual effort, even thought it wasn't great quality like the rest of the pack.
Last night I thought he was very good, wouldn't say he was the best prop on the pitch, but I was pleased with his performance.
I;m probably the most vociferous and longstanding "Kirke hater" but certainly not the most negative poster. I take it as no slight on my judgment when Kirke puts in a display like that. I'd like to see that every week. It is what I would hope his coaches would expect to see from him every week.
In summary, overall, he's strung three performances together which have been far better than anything he's done all season long. Long may that continue.

I echo this......it still remains a mystery as to why he continues to be regularly selected when his performances do not warrant it, but last night I did think he was actually the equal of Kylie and Peacock. Shock horror !

I think I said he had a good game last night but should be doing that every week not just once in a blue moon.
Good luck to the lad if he starts to play like this every week.
I actually thought and said he was one of our better forwards last night and will need to do the same next week to make up for the loss of Delaney.

Kirke is not the man to replace Delaney. Delaney's qualities are work rate and leg drive. Whatever Kirke's qualities it's not those.

| True. But I meant he would need to up his game to make up for the loss of Delaney and possibly JJB. Singleton I assume will come in for one of them. Do you think Clarkson for the other if needed?
