I reckon it is 602 minutes which is more than Walters, Oledski, Mullally, Garbutt, Dwyer, Keinhorst, Ormandroyd and Peteru.
Sinfield only played him for 18 minutes and Walters for 8 against Widnes.

This reminds me of a chant from the South Stand during our amazing 1996 (?) season. Towards the end of a rare victory, against Workington (iirc), “we’re 5h1t, but you’re worse than us”

Precisely my point - Smith needs to start and play big minutes - he cannot contribute less than Brett Ferres or be more ineffective than JJB its not possible.

| To be fair, even a few short years ago the crowd used to turn on the players a hell of a lot more than the grumbling that's gone on this year.

I think that’s pretty much how it will stay although the Salford London game could be interesting, I think we’ll beat Halifax but not by a huge amount which with our points difference should see us safe then we can just forget about this nightmare of a season.
I will add I really wanted Toronto to come up to Super League but I really don’t like with how they play, it could be me but they seem to play with a misplaced arrogance but without the skill to back it up, whereas Tolouse and London are a joy to watch so I’m hoping one of those make it up

I know what you mean re Toronto, I don’t think there’s any coincidence that Leigh used to play in a similar manner.
Widnes are down, I can’t see them winning either of their last 2 games. The top 3 will stay the top 3, the next 3 will be remarkably close. If I had to guess I’d say London will miss out on the MPG but I could be wrong. Obviously home advantage in the MPG is always a benefit but this year it’s magnified with the teams involved. All 3 of London, Toronto and Toulouse would benefit hugely from being at home in that game, so it makes 4th place massively important.

| Unless Salford and Hull KR throw their games on the Sunday v Toulouse & Widnes knowing that Leeds have beaten Toronto and they could potentially knock Toronto out. The joys of playing two days early.
Could see London, Toulouse, Toronto and Widnes all on six points and down to points difference for the MPG.

That combined with a Leeds win at Fax, would see us safe, and start the string of announcements.

| Agree that Widnes could do a job on Toronto. Truth is, for all the hype TWP have looked pretty average. And while this applies to every team in the M8s, it means that anyone can win most of the games.

| Think were safe regardless, we won't lose to Halifax, but reailacally we only had to beat 2 ot the 3 other super league sides to be safe, even if we did slip up to Toronto, which we won't, they are simply Leigh 2015 mark 2

If Hull lose their final 2 games, that'll be 11 defeats on the bounce and 14 defeats from their final 16 games with their only wins coming against the 2 worst teams in the league: Salford & Widnes.
They're not in the Middle8s though, so at least it's not a calamitous season for them.

They like the other 4 - Giants, Widcats and Catalans have nothing to play for in the 8's none of them could have realistically made the top 4 and they players knew.
Sadly it is one of the downfalls of how the splits have worked out this year.

Might be calamitous for Radford though. Umbersard won't be best-pleased with him.

| I think Hull expected to kick on from getting their Wembley CC monkey off their backs but they've just fallen apart. Lucky for them it didn't happen as soon as it did to us, or they'd have been in the middle 8's too. That would have made in interesting. The collapse at Warrington was one of the most gutless performances I've ever seen.

Yeah, Trinity found themselves adrift at the end of 23 rounds, unlike last season where we could/should have made the top 4 and more teams were fighting for the top 4 right till the end.
Even though people mention that teams have nothing to play for, there is, £25k for every place further up the league you can finish from 8th up, which isn't to be sniffed at especially for Trinity. Thankfully we haven't put the cue on the rack and played some good RL and haven't let a bit of a frustrating season fizzle out. I say frustrating just from the amount of really close games we couldn't get over the finish line and we ended up losing by a drop goal or a last-minute try, which if we'd played a bit more clever could have at least got us another 3/4 wins. Generally, though the S8's to say we can't make the top 4 have been fairly good for us so far, winning 3 out of 5, just loses to Saints & Wigan, which has got us up to 5th. That's an extra £75k to £100k, depending if a team gets £25k for 8th or not.

I presume nothing i the way of prize money o the basis that the 8th placed team in the Super 8's gets nothing.

| Basically if Leeds get a better result away at Halifax than Toronto do at home to Widnes, then for us not to be guaranteed SL after the M8's regular rounds Toronto would need to win at Leeds by a minimum of 22 points.
I'd say we are pretty much home and dry.

| This weeks predictions are
London -v- Salford -
Toulouse -v- HKR
Toronto -v- Widnes
Halifax -v- Leeds
To win
Salford, HKR, Toronto & Leeds
This would confirm relegation for Widnes and Toronto securing at the minimum a MPG place.
