| Go for me…..his ‘highlights reel’ will certainly look impressive and no doubt over the last few years he’s contributed massively to us winning games under Agar but that’s when he was often our only attacking threat given the lack of a game plan and/or attacking structure.
Looks like Smith is now sorting that out so he becomes a bit of a luxury player for me and our ‘better’ attack further highlights his weaknesses in my opinion which are still his poor passing and distribution and his often ‘headless chicken’ style.
Look at last night as an example….looks like he was great because two decisions he made ended up working….but so nearly could have messed everything up.
As one of the players said in interview after the game, we had a move set up left and he goes on a solo run right, ends up kicking but scores.
Last play in golden point….not sure if it was the last tackle or not, but Sezer in the pocket for the winning drop goal attempt, he darts off on a solo run, gets tackled but fortunately ends up slinging the ball back for Zak to pass to Sezer who dummies and scores the winning try. If it was last tackle and he gets wrapped up with the ball in the tackle we lose a golden chance to win.
That’s two major points in the game where it ends up coming off, but so nearly messed up both so it looks good but could have easily cost us.
Bags of effort and energy and overall he’s looked good for us in moments in what’s been a poor team these last few years but to move forwards and if we are wanting to get back to challenging for trophies, I feel it’s time to say goodbye

| Quote rollin thunder="rollin thunder"Johnson has shown nothing so far, oconnor is now ahead of him behind Leeming.
Jonah Parsons us very highly rated as well, people creaming over Johnson reckon he’s nowhere’s near as good as some think, championship player.'"
So after around 6 games at 9 for Jarrod and 27 minutes at 9 for CJ you’ve decided they’re not good enough.. WOW

Sorry you disagree, but put the Kleenex back on the box over “CJ” obviously a fan boy who cannot accept he’s not the super star in waiting you think he is. Hope he goes well at York or Bradford because thats his level.

| Go I think, he’s had his time and whilst there are positives to his game, there are also significant negatives for the team too. It’s time for the next generation to have a chance,

Oh I see school is out, you obviously have a beef from a previous life with him, enjoy the 6 week holiday

| Go. He's been a good servant to the club and single-handedly won us some tricky games in hard times. That said, his off the cuff style is too high risk to pay dividends every week, and in the meantime we need someone with much better distribution from DH. Our outside backs have been starved of possession too long - any wonder our attack was so bad under Agar? Not Dwyer's fault alone but we need a proper 9 on the field for 80 mins.

| I'm happy for Dwyer to leave but I am concerned that O'Connor and Johnson are currently unproven. If Leeming breaks his leg the first match of next season then we are left with some very unproven hookers. Of course, either or both players could turn out to be future stars for hookers at Leeds, albeit equally they could turn out to be very average.

I think that’s why it’s important one or both of them get as many minutes as possible for the rest of this year.

| This will he stay or go may be academic, the club would probably offer him only a one year deal and the player would want 2 to 3 years and I think he would get that elsewhere .I think he would reject a one year deal

| Dwyer would be playing short minutes if he stays and Leeming is fit. That's assuming he even gets in the squad. I doubt very much Dwyer would want to play that role.
With small squads we can't afford to have too many players for one position who aren't playing. O'Connor and Johnson might not be as good as Dwyer yet, but both have time to learn, and can both play other roles that mean they're more valuable to the squad. Johnson looks like he'll be groomed as a hooker/halfback and O'Connor can play 13.
Anyway this is all moot. Smith will have watched umpteen videos of Dwyer in headless chicken mode and seen it first hand live, and made a call that he wasn't going to be offered a contract. Hopefully the era of retaining players because they are good lads or occasionally play well when the rest of the team is in form are over.
