YEP reporting a decision is due soon re: Zak. Reading between the lines of that article it could well be positive news - although no evidence to back this up.

The tone of that YEP article is very different to Matt Shaw's.

The Hardaker story was written by Aaron Bower rather than Matt Shaw, both have decent credibility but neither have the same inside contacts at Leeds that Peter Smith does. They may have better contacts with Hardaker's agent though!

These reporters are sometimes tools of the players and agents and clubs. There's every chance this "Zak is definitely leaving" story is the agent sending a message to Leeds to hurry up the things they know are being done to sort the issue given time is passing quickly.

Think maybe we're being a bit hard on McDonald. He's big and fast and at 28, still in his athletic prime. You don't play 100 games in the NRL if you are mug. Really good try scoring record as well. I think he'll give us more strike than either Sutty or Zak as a centre. Sad the Zak looks to be gone but realistically he is 30 plus - nobody gets better from that point on. McDonald would be very much a Rohan signing. You'd have to back his judgement given all the available evidence.

I would actually say that myler is the better all round fb certainly his ability to find a pass. And mylers improved in his 30s

I think so too, but he's not off contract. On the other hand we now have Hooley, another Rohan signing, who shouldn't be there to make up the numbers. Zak leaving wouldn't be the end of the world for me. He's been great this year and can move on with his head held high, but he's not the player of 2015 & 2017 and never will be. Good luck to him wherever he goes.

I just feel Zak is a big game player and has moments in big games that other players don't. His break in the Cas match, his long run in the Wigan match, his break in the GF to set up our first try.

I am not sure I saw those big moments from Myler in the last few matches (although could be wrong).

I really would like Zak to stay despite my original worry regarding his previous behaviour , but to be fair Myler has been our best player the last 3 seasons

Don't have the stats but for me Myler's the better attacking option. And if you don't have some strike from FB then you're missing a trick these days.
