| Sunderland look a good side with potential - can see them being the third team to be promoted.
Why did he not start Rothwell - he made a huge difference - Gruev's dead ball kicking is poor.
The defending for the Sunderland goal was really poor not sure any of the starters enhanced the game. I agree with Tad James' end product is very poor most of the time.
As they say in Sheffield a win is a win doesn't matter how it comes.

Amazing mate... this team will be the death of us all ! We totally bossed that game, i was calling for Rothwell and Pascal from half way through the first half, Gruev was offering us very little, we didn't need his defensive game. We needed Rothwell to create something and his excellent set piece delivery. Pascal also is our best threat in the air by a distance, he just has that instinct and power. He's really turning out to be a very good player.
Sunderland best team to come to Elland Rd all season, i said a few days ago on here i fancy them to get promotion via the playoffs and i hope they do. They played some nice stuff and were very brave. Isadoor is a good striker, fast and powerful and can finish. Le Fee has some prem quality to him and in the main they defended well. We did very well to win that one and i dare say, the team last season would have lost that, as the midfield wasn't creative enough.
Takes the pressure off Monday now away at Sheff U. A point will do nicely, anything else is a bonus. But we have nothing to fear there if we play our game. Be interesting to see if he starts Gruev again. Personally i'd go Pascal and CB as set pieces again could be a factor, and Ampadu into midfield (thought he looked much better there last night when Farke moved him) with Rothwell to come on.. it's a real tricky one though as Rothwell looked superb.

| gruev has been good in recent games, excellent. him and tanaka were off it last night.
you might say rothwells delivery was excellent but iirc we've only got 1 from a set piece of his this season.
he is OK, a decent championship player. everyone saying why not start him, I'm guessing 98% would have started with that side

| I was disappointed he didn't start Rothwell, i was saying to friends last night at the start of the match. Rothwell is much much more creative than Gruev. Ampadu is better than Gruev also in that role. I'm not saying Gruev is poor, far from it, i rate him, but against teams who are good defensively and especially when we're at home, i don't think he's the right option, away from home against a good team, different conversation (though i do think Ampadu is the better player).

| I think Rothwell will have felt a bit cheesed off that after starting in the 7-0 against Cardiff he hasn’t started a league game since. He’s had a really good season and I don’t think many people saw him being dropped for the last 3 games. There was a theory that away from home against the bigger teams Gruev gives us better defensive cover, and against all the other teams Rothwell’s your man, especially at home. It’s a massive headache in the best possible way for Farke now. Your set piece specialist who’s had a really good season has just helped topple a big rival with two top quality deliveries to win the game, and you have the joint best team in the league next up. We’ll have to trust Farke on this one, and in fairness to the fella, he keeps churning the results out.

| Leeds' away record with Tanaka and Rothwell starting is something like 2 wins in 9, so I think adding a more defensive midfielder in there was right IMO. Also, with Struijk injured, Gruev is the only option, and I think given the amount of space Bellingham got in the away game, Gruev was always going to start this game, and from a defensive point of view, I thought it worked. Sunderland couldn't play through us and Bellingham was very quiet for most of the game.
I do think if Struijk is able to do 90 minutes, he'll start, and Ampadu will move into midfield with Tanaka for the rest of the season.

| It looks like the 49ers are buying Rangers to start their multi-club model.
It also looks like Angus Kinnear is in talks with Everton to become their new CEO.

| Yes i like Kinnear, but we have some top people in charge so we'll be fine. Interesting re 9ers and Rangers, personally i'm not a big fan as it can feel like it will dilute resources and attention. As long Marathe remains only as an investor then fine and doesn't head it up.

| The 49's are preparing the future when the sell to Red Bull.
If they get promoted I would expect a sale of the controlling shares - it is the least risky time to maximise their returns.

| absolutely totally and utterly wrong.
the best time is when the ground is finished and leeds are established in the top flight.
this is what they have consistently said. ,

| Yea, there's no way they sell before the ground is finished.
Steinson was also promoted from Leeds' technical director, to head of 49er's international operations a few months ago, so if AG does go, they'll probably look for a CEO with experience of working in a multi-club model.
