While i was disgusted by their behaviour which did not suprise me, on my way out some leeds fans had obviously been involved and were boasting about what they had done. Stewards seemed to have it under control but they only throw people out so no actual arrests get made. Saw a bloke outside telling police to get in there and sort it out before it escalates and he was told the club had not paid for big police presence tonight . If thats true it amazes me as along with cas the hull game should have most police.

I'm a Wakefield fan and was sat in the paddock with a relatively good view of the events.

I believe there were numerous contributing factors which could have been avoided and don't think the stewards did everything they could, or maybe it is the rules of movement of fans around Headingley.

In my view, drunken fans should not be allowed into the ground (any ground in RL). Headingley now has computerised turnstiles so there isn't even someone there to make a judgement as to whether the fan is intoxicated or not before entering the ground.

The small number of trouble maker Hull fans are a disgrace to their club and the game. I think any fan being evicted should be identified and noted prior to physical ejection so that they can be banned from their club and other RL grounds.

Sinfield and Webb should not provoke the crowd, the RL should deal with them firmly and not a mickey mouse "naughty boy don't do it again".

For the life of me I am bemused by the Leeds stewarding. Things were getting lively on the terrace yet Leeds fans are allowed to walk from the South Stand area across the away fans terrace. This led to trouble as one Rhino fan came to blows with at least one, if not numerous Hull fans at that spot, who were rightly ejected. Then at the end an embarrassment of an RL female fan wearing a "King Kev" signed Leeds top was very provocative with verbal and hand gestures, very inciteful. The stewards eventually dealt with her but not after numerous Hull fans failed to ignore it.

Stewards were quick to eject people which is correct, however if they don't allow opposing fans to walk into a highly charged provocative area, then idiot fans from both clubs are less likely to clash.

I personally think the whole organisation of the situation could be improved and all clubs can learn from the mistakes made.

As an RL fan of nearly 30 years I felt absolutely disgusted and ashamed at what I saw yesterday. I love the game, but the negative elements are an utter disgrace icon_sad.gif

The policing was done for them by the weather.

I bet the stewards and club were counting their blessings when the heavens opened. It certainly did the job for them, when the Hull fans started to realise they were not prepared to get pish wet through as well as a shagg1ng on the pitch, and started going home.

On the police front, I had to laugh when on leaving the ground, despite what had gone on inside, one policeman saw it more important to speak to a bunch of lads and a taxi driver, as the taxi was trying to give them a life somewhere. Of course the taxi's are not allowed to solicit for business outside the ground, but come on, was it really worthy of taking up the policemans time.

Get your own house in order first before going at other peoples.

Every incident I saw was caused by Leeds fans walking in front of FC fans and goading them. One guy threw the worst punch in history (probably the weight of having a sixth finger) to which the FC fans swarmed him and handed him over to the stewards.

However as usual we'll blame the FC fans because thats easier, despite most of the trouble being caused by Leeds players and fans.

Sadly the game will be remembered more because of the idiots causing the trouble. Some of those involved have already been identified and reported to the club because the majority of fans (Regardless of which club they support) do not want these thugs at games.

Well seeing as it started with your fans throwing missiles, I hope so!
BTW did the Leeds fans start the fighting when the Hull fans were fighting amongst themselves?
Thought not.

I thought it was going to be remembered for another easy win for Leeds against Hull?

Or remembered for Ryan Bailey ripping it up, handing Radford his ar-se again, scoring a rare try and popping up with an assist.

im not disputing that we have some of the most moronic "support" in superleague, but we are not the only club. in the statement in the local paper the hull daily mail says about trouble with hull fans but doesnt mention the idiot leeds fan who after an exchange of words with some hull fans throw punches which led to another scuffle/fight. the hull fans who started trouble where quite rightly ejected from the ground but the leeds fan who started the scuffle was escorted back to his own end !! surely he should have been ejected also ? as for the players they should never retaliate to the crowd, i would lose any respect for any player who did so. both webb and delany should be charged with inciting the crowd and before anyone tells me that they had just had items thrown at them, i saw it, and the people throwing these items need to be identified and banned from every ground. there were hull fans there that did try to calm the situation but they were turned on by the idiots.

There was a crowd disturbance in the Hull end at this seasons Craven Park derby. It was shortlived and involved very few Hull fans.
