Yes I think stopping a player by tackling him around the head is more serious then the Coley incident and as I said more serious then the Farrell charge down.
I was under the impression that high shots would be dealt with more severely but clearly not. (Peacocks was not malicious but very high!)
Compare the penalties that Farrell and Peacock gave away and do you seriously think there is consistancy there?

| It was an accident but you shouldn't be kicking out like that in the tackle IMO. Keith senior, laying on the floor, his foot connected with joel tomkins who was stood up. For me that shouldn't be happening and they should outlaw kicking out in the tackle like that.

I agree. But it's something they should look at changing. Kicking out like that should be a sinbin.
Theres absolutly no reason seniors feet should get anywhere near the head of an opposing player when he's on the floor during a tackle.

It was the correct decision. All SL half backs for all teams need more protection - They shouldn't have to worry about been clattered after they have kicked on the last tackle.
Like it or not the ball had left McGuire's boot, then a split second later he got clattered. I agree that Farrell could not get out of the way in time - but that was his own fault, why did he put himself in that position in the first place? Farrell put himself in a position where he would hit McGuire off the ball. No ifs no buts. Its in the rule book and Bentham had no choice but to sin bin Farrell.

All Farrell was doing was putting pressure on the kicker like all players are told to do. If there was an elbow in the collision or he had gone for McGuires standing leg (remember Ronnie Gibbs? ![Smile icon_smile.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_smile.gif) ) then a yellow card or worse I agree.
The way things are going the kicker is going to become like a footie goalkeeper completely untouchable.

Inconsistency is something you should be used to, supporting huddersfield.

| Senior didn't intend do do it but should have been sent to the sin bin.
Mathers cleaned Matt King out the other year but didn't intend to and got a red card.
Farrell shouldn't have been sin binned, a penalty at the most.
Andy Coleys tackle on Delaney was a cracker, he wasn't injured and landed on his back, his legs flew up due to the impact of the tackle and the speed Delaney was going.
If he would have shoulder charged Delaney and he had landed the same way would it be deemed as a dangerous tackle?

Never in a month of Sundays, all you do by that principle is penalise players for being omitted and giving 100%. There is a massive difference between a late hit and a player going for a legitimate charge down.
If you start penalising players who go in legally and wholeheartedly on kick pressure than Peacock is penalised for going in full pelt at Tomkins at the end and Leeds do not get the field position for the winning play.
Penalise the late hits, but not the legal committed challenge.

How do you know? I'd love to know how people know what is in the mind of other people. I think it is totally irrelevant whether that kick was accidental or not, Senior had no reason at all to kick like that - having your leg in the air doesn't help anyone to get up - and he should have seen a card of some colour for dangerous play.

| A lot of players kick-out in the tackle – it is a tactic used to emphasise and exaggerate, even give the illusion that they are being held down and they are struggling to get upright.
I really don’t think it was Keefs intention was to cause injury but he made contact and was panelised (rightly so) but I really believe there as no malice intended and that no further action was needed.

| The most blatant offender when it comes to kicking out after the tackle is that petulant little chap Sam Tomkins, so there was a smile on my face when he was well and truly scragged by Jamie at the end, and an even bigger one with the resultant try.
The early doors smack around the head was probably deserved as well!
One of the highlights of the day for me was the look on the faces of Noble and that annoying Welsh muppet Davies. The pair of them couldn't tip their Granny off the sofa! Feckwits the pair of them! ![Very Happy icon_biggrin.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_biggrin.gif)

There is kicking out and kicking out. What Senior did today does not happen every week by Tomkins or anyone, if it did we would not be talking about it.
Senior put his feet in a dangerous position, the call was right and it was dealt with in the right manor.

Yes, we have been very fortunate in the last three Grand Finals.
We were very fortunate against Warrington. And also against Bradford. And exceptionally fortunate today against Wigan.
You know, the more games we play the more fortunate we become!

With the rule that is currently in place that is the risk you take when charging down. JP had to make sure Tomkins still had the ball, you run the risk. What actually is classed as late?

| How can a player get a warning from the referee and still persist at offending at the play of the ball and not get ten minutes?
Coley should have walked - Mounis did and got a one match ban too!
Senior could not have seen Tomkins when he was swinging his leg - too many players were holding him down.
What about when Ablett lost the ball, it went backwards and BENTham gave scrum down head and feed to the piemunchers?
The referee was terrible and in my opinion ruined what should have been a decent game. Well done to Peacock for doing what most of rugby league has wanted - smack Sam Tomkins! Tomkins also got up a bit gingerly when Hall hit into him when Hall was returning the ball.

If Wigan we're totally dominant in the 2nd half why didn't they score enough points to win the game?
Fact is they couldn't get past the Leeds defence. For that you could say Leeds deserved to win the game from their defensive effort....
If you knew anything about the game you would have noticed Peacocks 'high' tackle was just a grab - In my opinion, John Kears' opinion and Jonathan Davies' opinion.
As for the Senior kicking out in that tackle take your mind back to this years WCC (if you watched it) a Melbourne player kicked out in the tackle and injured Sinfields leg. Sinfield missed 55 mins of a World Club Challenge. He then missed 3 games after that. Leeds didn't even get a penalty for FFS. Compaired to our misfortune Wigan we're very lucky.

| Coley's challenge was far worse than Peacock's. Delaney is lucky he isn't very injured. The ref gave neither a team an advantage, some jelous supporters need to get over it.
