Yep agree with that. It seems a bit silly to rely so much on the opinion of the ref who, by definition of sending it to the VR, isn't sure of what happened.
The only time I'd take his initial decision into account is in those situations where the VR can't really see whether the ball gets down or not, like when there's tacklers around the ball. If the VR can't see then I don't mind taking the on-field ref's initial decision into account, but when the VR has a good view of the incident it's just silly to take account of the on-field ref's opinion either way.

If the on-field ref had sent up the Murdoch-Masila one as a try then it would have been given. Which is a daft system.

Agree with the first part. There have been some terrible decisions made this year. And I find them inexcusable. I might mutter at the actual game but afterwards I generally accept that an on-field ref gets 1 look and has to make an instantaneous decision and make hundreds, if not thousands, of decisions a game and so is going to get some wrong. A video ref should never get it wrong.
Also agree that on-field ref's rely on them too much. Which wouldn't be too much of a problem if the VR system was working well but it's not.

I think the Video Ref can be a useful tool, sadly at the moment it just seems to be run by useless ones.

To be fair to Leigh they played some great stuff yesterday and deserved their win. On top of that it was exactly what the middle 8s needed.

Squeaky bum time now for a few SL teams and that makes it interesting.

Salford v KR next week is a massive game with lots of pressure on it.

I still think Leigh have to beat 1 more SL team to finish in the top 3 but i think they are more than capable of giving KR a hell of a game at the very least.

Leigh have spent big and deserve a Super League spot in my opinion. They are far too good for the Championship.
