I agree though, it's an absolutely dreadful name. 

How on earth has Aaron Moore concluded that Smith didn't pull back Sim there. What an utterly disgraceful decision. Cas have been cheated. There is no other word for it.

Two tier officiating. I wouldn’t normally use the word “cheating” in relation to a R.L official, but got to say I agree with you. If it was a Cas player that  had done that to a Wigan player in the reverse fixture it would have been penalised. They say that sport imitates life, and unfortunately regarding justice and fair play that would appear to be the case here.

As Simm is about to run past Smith, Smith grabs Simm and impedes him. That is as clear a penalty as you could ever wish to see. For Moore to comment "there's nothing to see here" is an utter disgrace. Danny articulated the situation quite well in his post match interview, I thought. 

Look, refereeing is difficult. The game is quick and they're human, they make mistakes. That's what the VR was brought in to mitigate, wasn't it? But there has to be an assumed general level of competency expected from all match officials, on field and VR, and poor calls called out for what they are. If the governing bodies don't get a grip, then assumed incompetency will quickly turn to assumed bias, and once that view becomes entrenched then the game is done. 

thing is there's no accountability. hasn't been since the late 90s when the Australian, who's name I simply can't remember, was in charge of referees. he would drop referees for big errors.
nowadays they are selected regardless of performances/errors

At what point is time called on the Salford situation? It's not doing their players, the competition or the game any good. In fact, it's positively counter productive at this point. An embarrassment that could be seen coming from a mile away but which the powers that be have not only wilfully ignored but facilitated. 

Probably be left to limp along to the end of the season before being given the bullet.

I don't thing they have any choice, farcical as the current situation may be. More farcical still is the rumour of a 14 team comp next year. We"ve got a bottom 3 who can't compete this year but hey, let's add an extra 2 without a share of TV money to recruit players from an already shallow talent pool. Depressing.
