However GH wouldn't spend 125k lightly but im not convinced A.He's worth it or B.We actually need another 9.

I am not sure O'Brien is the answer (as I have not seen much of him), but I can certainly understand GH trying to get a young, good English (Irish?!?) prospect at hooker. He will not want to keep trawling the NRL every one/two years to get an "interim" hooker, & it is the one position we have been unable to fill (adequately enough) from within our youth system since Diskin emerged.

It would seem that a move for Clark has hit the rocks, there were rumours of Hull being approached about Houghton, I even heard the rumour on here about GH enquiring about McIlorum, & Falloon has only signed a one year deal. So am not surprised if hooker is still GH's top priority.

Jordan Cox released by Hull KR and signed for Warrington. Looking like Robbie Mulhern will be his replacement at Hull KR which means more game time for him there.

Keinhorst has just signed extension to his current contract & been given the no 18 jersey. In todays YEP GH says that Achurch will be here next season.

Regards Achurch, am i right in thinking this would be his last year? if it is, and we can assume he is on a fair whack, you can't blame him for seeing it out if no other offer comes close to it.

Judging by GH article today, Sutcliffe should be 6, McGuire 7, Falloon 9 and Burrow 14.

He also talked about "holding onto your shirt". Would be amazed if Burrow or McGuire's numbers changed.

Yep agree with that. I too would be amazed if McGuire & Burrow's numbers changed.
I'd also be surprised if Singleton was given the 10 shirt. I think Cuthbertson will get it. Getting the 10 shirt straight after Peacock would be a huge step and put a lot of pressure on Singleton that isn't necessary or particularly helpful.

I have to disagree, i think if singleton gets 10 it will only make him more confident, we have all seen his ability this season breaking defence's and contributing to huge tackles and scoring tries.

8 and 10 on your squad number list should, theoretically, be the two best props in your squad.

Anyone who thinks Singleton is one of the two best props at Leeds needs their head checking.

Burrow will be 7 won't he? He's unlikely to start many games at halfback if Sutcliffe and McGuire are fit.

I would imagine so. Despite what GH said I reckon Burrow (7) along with JJB (11) and McGuire (6) will keep their numbers until they finish.

As for number 10 I'd go Cuthbertson. Already very popular with the fans so wouldn't be the pressure a new signing (Galloway) or younger player (Singleton) may have taking over that shirt. Just a question or whether to give the number 8 shirt to Galloway or Garbutt.....or you could even give that one to Singleton because (no disrespect to Leuluai but) it doesn't come with the same pressure to take over his number.

TBH I'd be surprised if shirt numbers mean that much to some of the players.

Great news about Garbutt getting a new 4yr deal i am a bit surprised he's getting no-17 though i'd have given him a higher number.

Think they're likely to mean more if you're either dropping down the list, or a young player trying to get yourself a first team squad number. Outside of that, I think you're right. Won't matter to Sutcliffe whether he's wearing 6, 14 or 18 next year I wouldn't have thought.

I'd be more inclined to think the opposite (but depends on the individual I guess). I don't think there is any way McGuire or Burrow will end up with a different number and Sutcliffe IMO is now favourite for the no.14 shirt.
