Nail on the head, but that would require a certain number of brain cells. Either way without any details it's all speculation based on nothing more than having muppet tendencies.

If it helps you to think that Finch and Hoffman are over here for the kind of money they could get as an average squad player in NRL then please do that. Just sayin''"
Fine. They probably are over here for an average NRL wage. They ain't gonna be over here for the superstar money that Barrett, Feka etc were paid.

Isn't the average SL wage £66,000?
1,650,000/25 = 66,000

Anyone have any idea how much spare cap space they had to pick up Hoffman and Finch from fellow cap cheats Melbourne Storm??
Considering the NRL cap is £2.7m ($4.3m AUD),the UK cap is £1.6m as you know, and that the Storm were already running over that it must be lucky that Wigan had sufficient space and that Hoffman and storm lynchpin Finch were willing to take (what logically must be a pay cut no?) to sign for the Warriors.
Maybe they just asked Hansen, Tomkins and co to take another salary deferment or have they learned lessons from passed cheating and have the current champions decided keep around a spare 20% of the cap free for eventualities leading into this season.
thoughts?'"
In - Finch, Hoffman, Lima, Hock (half way through season), Cross (near end of season)
Out - Phelps, Riddell, Bailey, Palea'aesina, Ainscough, Holland, Thornley, Veivers, Gleeson (after 3 games)
On Loan/Dual Reg - Pryce, Mellor, Crosby, L. Tomkins, Davies, Hughes

Agreed but what we will see at Wigan is quality players leave as there is only so much pie to go around(sorry couldn't help myself) having lots of good kids and winning things brings tough calls on how best to split the cap. Whilst most will want to be loyal the lure for better wedge and game time down under or at other sl clubs will will see a few leave the first team squad and some kids will bypass the Wigan first team all together.
That's the flip side of the cap.

If you don't bother to go to the game when you live in the locality then you are not really a fan and therefore your views are invalid. It's simple.:icons39ad_files/4821-1859san_c-msnicons.jpg |

No doubt cast in our direction. Unlike the competition our nose is clean when it comes to the cap.

| Have you got any proof that we are over the cap or nearly over it? No. Well then shut up.
We released Feka last year and Riddell went home so that obviously left us some space to get Finch, Lima and Hoff.
I could quite easily make a thread about you letting Burgess and Cross go and assume it's because you were over the limit and panicked. But I'd be just as wrong as you were in this.

| Is it possible to have a thread on this forum involving Leeds and Wigan without opposition fans accusing each other of cheating!? Don't drop to their level!!
Few interesting lessons learnt from the Storm scandal tho. 1) If club administrators are motivated to do so, cap rorting can be done without being detected for many years - could argue NRL might have never caught them without being tipped, 2) Storm are arguably the best team in the comp despite shedding a multitude if talent (5 first teamers are on minimum wage). Think that shows it matters less how much you pay players, its how you coach them. Not condoning cap breaches, just saying its clear those that spend the cap, don't necessarily perform the best.

| Image rights payments made by "unconnected third parties". Job sorted.
Outside of the salary cap (unlike Oz where there is a cap on them) and so make the salary cap - as I see it - pretty optional if you have plenty of "unconnected third parties" handy.
As I understand it, same as you did with Harris and Tissot, and I believe were lined up to do again if he was to have come back to you. Same as Stains did with Scully and Gillette. Same as we did with Harris, except someone at the RFL decided that was different hence the cap breach.
