John Morris or Ryan Carr I think are my picks from the 'list', with John Morris being the preferred choice.

Not sure we'll get a head coach from Austin who has got an astounding record or one without baggage.

The choice is from either end of the scale - really experienced (a Brian Smith type - but not Brian Smith) or an ambitious assistant. Definitely not one of those coaches who have failed as head coach and are now an assistant - that was Furner's background.

One thing GH has to do is try to meet people who are really in the know - Bellamy, Bennett, Gould. Regardless of coach I'd love to get Gould over at the end of the year to do a thorough review of the club from top to bottom.

What is betting that we get an out of work English coach e.g. Paul Anderson - it could be worse we could get John Kear!! The same coaches apply for every job that comes up and they will applied for this job too.

I'd like to see Seibold but not sure how contractually tied in he is with RFU.

That’s a really mixed bag. It’s all opinions and who knows how any will go. I don’t know much about some of them but I’d prefer Flanagan, Carr, Tony Smith in that order. I nothing know of Ciraldo.

For me Think it’s important whoever gets it really wants the challenge, even if using it as a stepping stone to the NRL. I think it’s a big task at present and whoever gets it will have to do a lot of good work.

I don’t fancy Seibold as he seems to me to be excessively academic about coaching. Don’t get me wrong we need a smart coach but RL is a tough game and I think we need a coach who carries a bit of personality, authority, respect and even a bit of fear.

Interesting John Morris is not even in the list.

Although the noise is Flanagan wants a head coach job in the NRL, they are not easy to find and maybe just maybe he could use us as an advert to get back as a head coach in NRL.

The other factor in all of this is family, does wife have a good job in Aus, how old are kids etc. no idea on any of that. Probably suits a bitterly divorced, workaholic, rugby genius, fingers crossed the sleeve meets one at the weekend.

I don't want Seibold from that list and I also don't think hes actually a contender. He is over here because things went wrong for him in the NRL and England RU seem to be going backwards so unsure of his impact there. If he does get the Leeds job what price Sinfield being his replacement with the England team!

Not sure I've seen Morris mentioned anywhere else but on this forum. However having read a bit about him he'd be my pick. Proven record of success in the lower grade, proven record of developing young players and a good record (in very testing circumstances) as a head coach in the NRL. Other than that I'd say Carr. Flanagan has apparently ruled himself out. Not bothered about that as he'd bring too much baggage, in my opinion.

I agree, John Morris is my pick, I’m not sure that the Ryan Carr fit would be good right now after being involved in the club previously and I think we need a total fresh face at the top

Does JJB offer anything as a coach be it head coach or assistant?

We dont know do we cos we dont see the training or what the assistants do. One thing is for certain giving his press conferences is we look like a pub team with him in overall charge. Its an embarrasing and humbling time for the club right now.

I mean if this was JJBs chance to show he could be a future Leeds head coach the signs arent very good. Phil Daly or the media dept should really start cutting these press conferences short.

We need a new appointment and the right appointment in place urgently.

Give the bloke a chance . He’s only been interim coach due 1 week and has no time to make any changes. Yes he waffles, yes he probably used bible jibberish in the dressing room, but he’s passionate and patient. He won’t loose his head, and we need that .

Hes just not the right man Shabbsy i think we all know that really. We need the right man in charge asap. Its a very difficult situation.

Fingers crossed the team shows some pride, fight and bottle tonight and gives us some positivity.

Spoke to my mate in Aus who's a huge Sharks fan and he said there's no mention of Morris coming over. He did a great job with the Sharks but he said he was talked about for another HC job over there. Feels he will get another crack pretty soon.

Yeah. No such thing as ‘the right man’, think the Furner show proved that. We need a more experienced man. But in the meantime we need to get behind JJB as he head coach for now. Think if we keep Saints under 50 it’s a result for JJB tonight….

I wouldn’t be at all surprised if we announced someone for next season when GH gets back…..

I read an article recently about how it's a really good gig for ex-NRL head coaches to become assistants in NRL teams. They get to coach, which is the part they love, without all the media pressure and attention that the HC wants. They also get paid really well.

For that reason, I think Carr has to be the favorite. I'd really like John Morris, but as others have said, he'll probs be loving it at Souths now, and biding his time for another crack at the NRL.

I just don't think SL has the draw it used to over there. Interesting that Flanagan has already distanced himself from the job before GH has even arrived in Oz.

Itz not an ideal scenario for any coach to come in at this stage .they really need an off season training

I honestly don’t think DP can last another month at Wire. With the squad they have their season is even worse than ours.The fans are sticking with him ( bizarrely considering how Price was treated), but must be unrest within the club.
Would we be interested in a mid season switch? Would be a yes from me….

Why would we want a serial loser to become our new head coach?

To continue our current dire predicament by adding a dire coach?

We are in such dire straights I think we now need a proven quality coach.

I just don't think we are in the position to give the job to someone either new to it or who has failed before.

Someone like Paul Green would be ideal if you ask me. Easier said than done like. But we really are in such a diabolical mess the club really have to put their hand in their pocket and offer a proven winner some incentive to come over and help us revive this club

If we can’t get someone from Oz, Shaun Wane? He fits a lot of criteria in terms of being experienced, able to bring in and develop young players, and could certainly make us a dog of a team to play against.

Obviously “he’s a Wigan man”, but I think that kind of dynamic applies more to football than rugby, tbh, where there isn’t the same tribalism. I think he’s had his peak as a coach, but failing someone from OZ either him or Tony Smith would be my choice.

As a club, we need to forget about trying to create another “era”, and move on. Golden generation was a one-off and can’t replicated, they had a special dynamic due to growing up together, we’re trying to create a similar dynamic with different players today and it’s not possible.
