Did Matt Diskin, Rob Burrow or Kevin Sinfield show such disrespect to the club, coaching staff and other players? Not to mention rumours about McShane's attitude in games & at training.



Sorry Brian ha ha whatever next, soon we will have our loose forward refusing to play at 13 and players refusing to come off the bench and be used as impact players.

I see a lot of speculation is often made on these boards about the attitude of McShane but it's strange how nothing has ever been mentioned from anybody at Leeds Rhinos, I suggest you ask people who attend training day in day out and you'll find a different answer to what is often posted on here, I think his selection in the 19 man squad puts to bed what was written re u20's.

There were glimpses of a player better than Dean Lawford (the player I believe McShane is most 'like' IMHO) in the WCC, so I personally haven't given up on him just yet (and neither have the Leeds coaching staff it would appear)...still think he's got some way to go and I hope he makes it but it's by no means a certainty. Will he leave? Doubt it there's lots he can build on and develop with us.

As for Lunt he's had a couple of pretty good games for sure, but I would have a hissy fit if we didn't sign him!

Wow Nanty - you always seem to talk real sense I believe that most supporters, with any RL sense or knowledge, think the same matey. Why play so many people out of position, when there is no need.

Had McShane put in the sort of display Lunt did on Sat our "fans" would be baying for blood. However, Lunt resembles Buderus so they love him. McShane resembles Kevin Dick and most of our fans have no clue who he is.

One of my favourite players is Kevin dick and mcshane does look very much like him. I am still hopeful that mcshane can have a decent SL career, don't know the ins and outs but he doesn't appear to have been given a regular shot and could possibly go the way Pitts did. Couldn't blame him if he did I imagine most players want to play

For those young-uns who want to know what Kevin Dick looked like I'd recommend activating SafeSearch on Google before looking for his picture.

Yup. Lunt was poor on Saturday, which lends credence to Nathan Brown's view of him. I'm hoping that his showing was in part down to a lack of grunt from some of the forwards, and that he'll show more of his Catalans game form in the coming rounds.

By the same token we should not give up on McShane just yet, especially as he has the longer contract and is considerably younger. I still think he can make it, provided the coach shows enough faith in him to give him an extended run. Difficult at the moment with Lunt seemingly being first choice and Lee Smith taking up a bench spot. He'll get his chance though.

Long term I think Liam Hood, though accept he's still very raw.

I still have reservations about McShane though I wouldn't stick the boot in like some have.

As for Lunt, I thought he was excellent against Catalan but there was an over reaction by our fans to his first 2 games. I thought he was terrible at Hull. If available and if he displays his Catalan form far more than his Hull form then, yes, I would look to sign him.

I asked a friend who is a knowledgeable Huddersfield fan why Huddersfield weren't playing Lunt, let alone allowing him to go out of loan. The answer was, for all he rated him as a good player, he was a weak defender and Brown, N didn't want him in the pack whilst ever another poor defender Brown, K was at loose.

The thing i like about Lunt is that when we have dominant go forward then he is very competant in moving the ball from dummy half,i thought against Catalan that our first receivers had the ball in their hands far quicker than either Hood or McShane have been able to do so far

9 is probably the most influential position on the field and although McShane and Hood are clearly talented players,both of whom will figure for the club in the future,i believe that we have lacked direction from dummy half when they have been on,we cannot have this problem in the big games as we will be turned over defensively by the top sides

Our best options at 9 when the big games come are either Lunt or Burrow imo
