there was absolutely nothing wrong with Welsby's tackle. Just another example of how soft the game has become ps I didn't agree with Martin's ban , that was ridiculous too.

Well the review panel have called it a high tackle. I don't want tackles like that banned either but if they were consistent at all he wouldn't be playing on Saturday and that's what's a joke

Lets get on with the game now we can argue about previous wrong decisions but for once I think they have called it right this week. Saints appealing has to be deemed frivolous after the Martin verdict. Its a free hit for Saints as its England games he will miss if ban extended.

Why did Martin get one game bans on each of his Grade A?

And this is the point people are trying to make. Whether it was high or not, the MRP have deemed it as such, yet its 0 matches again, just like against Huddersfield when Welsby got charged. Make it up as they go along

It’s the defensive intensity they’ll miss without Knowles, as well as the go forward of Walmsley. I don’t think it makes us favourites but it evens up the pack battle. Basically need to manage Paasi in his stint, because as good as Matty Lees has been I don’t think he can do it all on his own.

Offensively I’d send a lot of traffic at our old mate Konrad and wait for the inevitable brain fart.

The MRP should be in special measures,they are failing.

Welsby has only been found Guilty once in the last 24 months, that is how it is a zero match ban.

If a Player has not:
a) been Found Guilty of two or more On Field Misconduct
Offences in the previous 24 months, including at least one
offence in the previous 12 months prior to the date on
which the Offence attracting the Penalty Notice was
committed; and
b) has not been Found Guilty of a Similar Offence at Grade
C or above in the previous 24 months to the date on which
the Offence attracting the Penalty Notice was committed;
the Player will receive a Penalty Notice sanction which will be at the
lower end of the Grade of the Offence with which the Player is
charged.
Therefore, for a Grade A Offence the Penalty Notice will specify a
zero (0) Match suspension

The interesting question is whether it would have been Grade A at any other time during the season. I think we all know the answer to that one.

I don't have a problem with Welsby playing in the GF. But his tackle was worse than at least two of Martin's which resulted in bans, and no doubt we could find a couple of others we suffered from this year which had zero impact on the player supposedly hurt.

The MRP has been a joke this year and it needs to be cleaned out for next season.

If Bentley made that tackle instead of Welsby they’d have banned him for 4 or 5 games.

While it is a slightly different issue, I do think had any forward made that hit (not just someone with Bentleys record) it would have at least been penalised and looked upon very differently.

Time to stop discussing suspensions and focus on the actual game.
