Cunningham punches a player who hasn't even done anything and fractures his eye socket:

"Player intentionally has a jab at the Wakefield player and as such is guilty of misconduct; however the Panel are giving him the benefit of the doubt that contact with the eye is accidental and as such consider that it is appropriate to deal with this matter by way of a caution."


Going off that, Senior is certain to be banned, surely?

But the side offended against - in this case the Rhinos - does not benefit from the punishment - whereas, arguably, Wigan's opponents this week do,

you can suffer a career ending injury in a legal tackle just as you can escape "unscathed" from the most cynical or dangerous act



a common opinion on our system, did you feel the offence warranted a card in the game? we did of course get a penalty which helped us in the game and the enemy of our enemy is our friend (if wigan falter this week it benefits us)

I think Senior should have got a ban. You are not allowed to kick out in the tackle at all, never mind getting your foot 4 feet off the floor.

That would have been inconsistent with a previous similar incident involving Richard Mathers and Robert Burrow.

A warning letter was deemed sufficient in that case so Senior can consider himself a little unfortunate to have been asked to attend a disciplinary hearing and receiving a subsequent fine.

The punishment was within the guidelines set for the grade of offence.

Hes got found guilty of kicking out and if Coleys tackle is only a 1 game ban i dont think Senior should of got a ban. Coleys tackle was lucky not to be more serious and i expected 2 games.

Wow, this is just like the Stains board. Post something that makes sense and is FACTUAL and get greeted with abuse rather than some sort of argument against it.

As others have said, Senior's kick, against the rules and unnecessary, and potentially more damaging than any of the other incidents cited this week, and he doesn't get a ban? It's a disgrace. Whether the position of contact is accidental or not, the rules state he shouldn't have done it. It deserved at least one match, and sets a dangerous precedent.

Leading with the forearm and high tackles aren't as dangerous as a kick to the face, and this should be treated as such. I know which I'd rather take if I was still playing.

The ref at the time could see this, the RFL have confirmed this and anyone with a half a logical brain would come to the same conclusion.

Coley's dangerous tackle was the worst act and this is shown with a ban for the sack of 5hit. With Coley he knew what he was doing. With Senior there was no malice or intent. It was however needless and could have been avoided.
