If a fullback with average (at best) defence is the best player in SL then the game really is screwed.

Good on him whatever he does, he certainly creates publicity. Not as much of a loss to the game as some would believe though. I realise I have an obvious bias, but we too have a young English born fullback capable of breathtaking attack - only ours can tackle too

If you are going to have a pop at me at least use the rights words!

Re Jon Wilkin, I'd agree he comes across well. However, I'm not convinced I've ever heard him come out with anything remotely insightful or even interesting.

I disagree - I think he describes the nitty gritty and the tactics really well. He takes you inside the field of play.

He probably is the best player in the league and I think he is a bit of a div, to put it mildly. I hope he does well down under and puts our game in the shop window. It might make him a better player in the international game as well. Rather that than go to union.

I like the lad. Quality player and he's good at the tv work. Sure if he wore the blue and amber we wouldn't give him so much stick.

Sad to see him go but he does seem to be developing a 'footballers' attitude, hope he does well in the NRL but hope the cockiness is toned down a couple of notches, i doubt it though, i fear his ego will continue to rise, especially if he starts to really rip it up.

Well I hope his ego keeps on rising then. The lad's class. Watch Sam's team on Boots N All and you'll see how down to Earth he can be too.

I wont deny some of his "attributes" are a pain in the @rris but he is a quality player and like Wheels says Sams Team was a good project he carried out with distinction imo.
I do however think the Sky muppets go OTT in his praise and likewise make exscuses when he fecks up i.e Clarke in one game "That kick was uncatchable Eddie" PMSL he lost it end of.
Be interesting to se how he gets on in the NRL if he moves on.
