We're so far into the year now that there's really no good will left for these type of performances now. Worrying signs indeed with little in the way of players returning. Roberts is only 21 but he looked poor, martin isn't a centre but we've not much choice with the injuries. Olpherts is just awful, and the NRL can have Bentley now.

I’ve learned over 40 years of watching RL and Leeds to not let it get to me that much, it’s just a game, im as passionate as anyone but it’s not worth getting angry about.

We were awful tonight absolutely dreadful, i had a nice day up in Newcastle though, the one thing that does baffle me is how much passion and grit the side showed last week, to then turn up that dross today.

Maybe it took a lot out of them, all 3 sides that played Extra Time last week lost today. And Wigan were worse than us, they were bloody awful too.

I`m not convinced with Smith but I do think he will last the season mainly on the basis that with injuries to Newman, Simpson, Sezer, Gannon, Lisone and Tetavano and more recently Holroyd.
Not many coaches would get a lot of those players remaining in the squad.
Roberts and Olpherts below average, Hooley played one game and MacDonald slightly above average along with Lisone and Sangare.
No real quality in our team or the players he has brought in.

I was going to mention wigan and they were poor though their league position gives them much more credit to play with than us.

I agree but they looked really poor to me, they could easily start slipping down the table and be joining us if they don’t pick up.

I still think we can get into the playoffs but with our injuries it’s starting to look like a tough ask.

Smith looked a worried man near the end, like a rabbit in the headlights and he is under pressure now. He’s signed a number of players who are not good enough, our last captain has walked out and he can’t persuade young players to stay(I’m not convinced about Walters or Tindall but fact is we offered deals and Both are leaving).

He can’t seem to arrest entire halves of abysmal, error strewn, brain dead play.

If we make the play offs the game needs to scrap the play off system. I like the grand final but it has killed the CC and for a team like Leeds with no attacking structure whatsoever to make the play offs would be embarrassing. Smith has 3 games into next season for me. If we're still this bad we need a change.

Going into the game I suspected it was no better than a 50 - 50 given the amount of players we had out (before Holroyd's late withdrawal) and the massive improvement any game against Leeds brings out of Cas. But boy that was dreadful! 13 minutes to defend a 10 point lead against a poor team and we couldn't summon the professionalism to do it. I would have taken an ugly win this week, but were not good enough to manage even that. Come on, Rohan - sort it out.

We're not getting into the playoffs this year and nor do we deserve to. 14 games in and still producing dross like tonight irrespective of injuries is not acceptable and very worrying.

I’ve played and watched sport my whole life and I’m 42 now. Far more disappointments than achievements in both amateur and professional sport.
Leeds will come good again. May take another few years, but will definitely happen. Keep the faith!

Maybe he knows that he is now on thin ice losing 5 out of the last 6 regardless of us losing narrowly.

Can’t even be ar$ed to get into the performance but Olpherts was a disgrace in every department. Not alone I know, but he should never wear a Leeds jumper again.

Rohan out of his depth, sooner he’s gone the better for me.

For me that was a selection loss. We select Handley on the wing Hooley at FB; or Tindall wing and I think we win that game.

One thing that triggers me is rubbish defence and both edges were really fragile at times.

Oledski had his best game for a while though and McDonnell continues to impress me.

Smith had his hands tied in recruitment and tried to do the best he could with the budget he had and one or two have been good; but not the right selection for me again tonight.

Having said that our injury situation is savage again.

Agree that some selections are not working. Handley might want to be a full back but is nowhere near - being a strong runner just isn't enough. Martin isn't a centre, and Myler isn't a halfback. Smith said earlier in the season that he picks the best players regardless of position, and he does that. But we're ending up with imbalanced teams and players with no muscle memory of the position they're in.

Another huge problem is individual errors. Far too many players are making bad errors, often with their first touch of the ball. Some mistakes will happen, but it speaks of a slack mindset as a group when so many are being made. Stop patting each other on the back when it happens and go James Graham on them.

We need to look at Hooley or Sinfield coming in next week. If he doesn't change things we'll just keep losing. As it is we may already be too far off the pace to make the play offs, as if Leigh and Sts both win we'll be 4 points off even 7th. Making up that ground will need us to start winning most of our games from now on, but also for the wheels to fall off more than one team currently ahead of us.

I still support Smith, and I understand what he was trying to do with respect to recruitment given the constraints he had in the off-season, but at the moment this season looks like its going to just wither to nothing, and its really poor that we can seemingly play hard and compete with the top teams but lose in awful games to teams below us in the table.
