I did. He enjoys a drink, like 99% of people on here. My point stands.

| Maverick, you're missing the point. Nobody's arguing that if Leeds wanted to sign a hooker for last year, Buderus was clearly the best available in the world. What IS being argued is whether signing Buderus made any sense if he was brought in to operate in rotation with Diskin, a role which suits neither of them.
The signing of Buderus still smacks of a shiny Aussie star rather than a clearly thought out plan around hooking options. The latter would have either seen Buderus signed and Diskin released (or at least told his game time would be limited to when Buderus was unfit) or a genuine rotational hooker signed, McShane promoted to do that role, or - shock horror - making use of the same system that worked in 2004, 2007 and 2008 (and with hindsight 2009) of using Diskin with no specialist backup.
From what I've seen the system of using Diskin from the bench doesn't work. To me its effectively a waste of a bench spot in most games.

The signing of Buderus was an opportunistic signing of a shiny Aussie star rather than a clearly thought out plan around hooking options. In March of 2008, Hetherington made a trip to Australia to secure a replacement from the NRL for the departing second rower Gareth Ellis. Whoever his possible targets were (evidence points to Frank Pritchard being top of the list) he failed to secure the signing of a replacement second rower and quite bizarrely returned from his trip having signed Danny Buderus instead, who was conveniently trumpeted as a rlreplacement for Ellisrl
My whole stance on it has always been that regardless of name, or reputation the players should be appraised on current form on the pitch, rather than what has been achieved in the past. Both players have great pasts. From my view Buderus has out-performed Diskin this season, Diskin was better last season.
However, had Buderus not signed for another year, I doubt it would have weakened the team/squad noticably.

I'm not missing it, I just don't see the value in the debate given it has already happened and we have to live with it.

As Buderus has played in 30 out of a possible 34 games so far this season his old body doesn't appear to be struggling to cope whether it's feeling the strain or not.

| Quote: tvoc "Still trying to identify these numerous injuries he's allegedly had while at Leeds and how they compare to the average in SL and wondering if it's a valid point considering his availability over the 2010 season.
Once you exclude the injuries he arrived with (torn bicep and a knee requiring a minor clean up) and the broken leg he sustained at Wigan that ended his 2009 season, he's missed very few games, injured or otherwise.'"
Excellent observation.
Once you ignore all the injuries Buderus has suffered whilst at Leeds he hasn't suffered any injuries whilst at Leeds.
I like what you did there.

Once you ignore all the medals Keith Senior has sold on ebay, he hasn't sold any medals on ebay.
