| Interesting that a lot do seem to rate him. The only way I could find room for him in the seventeen (if all fit) would be if we ran with one hooker. So for me he would be in at Dywers expense. Risky approach though.

| I'm hoping that Sutty had been awarded a new contract for his utility value and that he has accepted that role.
Sutty is probably the best utility player in the SL competition as he can cover the majority of positions to a very good standard, But without really excelling in any as of yet (Harsh but true)
IMO we have better players in all of the positions that he can play, so when everyone is fit then would he get into the starting squad?
That's before we look at the youngsters coming through like Broadbent, Walters, Edwards & Gannon etc who's career pathways cannot be held back
I was told prior to Covid that Sutty was definitely signing for Cas once his contract had ended, although Covid has certainly pulled at the purse strings of all of the SL clubs, so perhaps Cas are going with their contracted players for 2021?
Shenton must surely be playing his final season at the club as he is finished, they also have Matautia as there other centre who is also under contract and Sutty is far a better player than both of those
Perhaps Sutty has signed a new multi year deal that has also been agreed by the club, whereby if a side comes in for him that he will be allowed to leave for an undisclosed fee?

| Time flies it doesn't seem long since he came into the squad. Now hes a senior player, maybe that was a factor in inducing him to sign the new deal it wont be long before he's due a testimonial

| With Newman's injury, this makes sence, and he was pretty decent at centre towards the back end of the season, and has a good partnership with Handley.

| You do need some high quality squad players but I’m not overjoyed with this.
If it is a couple more years to take him to testimonial, maybe. We do need some experienced cover at centre, or FB in emergencies maybe.
Nothing against him but when’s the last time he MoM’d? Wouldn’t be in my first 17 but we’re unlikely to have a fully fit squad so...

I'm not overjoyed either but neither am totaly unhappy about it also. He doesn't make my 17 when all fit but he does cover both backs and back row. I can see him taking Donaldson spot on the bench.

| I think, the problem I have with it, is the worry that we might see both Donaldson and Sutty on the bench. Neither would make my full strength team, but Agar (who is in full possession of the facts) often feels I'm wrong.

| Unless we have a shed load of injuries I'm not sure either player makes my bench.Certainly not both of them together. Our bench needs size and power.

| He showed a lot of promise early in his career, but has never really gone up another level since becoming a regular. Granted, it hasn't helped with the predicament of the team fighting against relegation seemingly every other season, and being moved between a variety of different positions.
He's either a poor half-back, a solid second-rower, or a slow direct-running centre with the occasional decent pass in him. Good for utility value, and good for squad depth, but he needs to fight his way into the first choice 17.
Would he have a new contract if Newman didn't get injured last season?

Nope. This thread could look rather silly

| I actually thought the move to Cas would make sense for all parties, but here we are.
He is a good player. Not back row for me, he annoys me there he has nowhere near the mentality of a forward IMHO. Centre is his best and he is OK there.
Not really in the bracket of Innes, Iro, Blackmore, Godden, Senior, Walker, Watkins... or even Ablett for me but certainly not rubbish either.
