It's hard to believe we might throwing in a hooker and a stand off with 10 games left and needing them to hit the ground running to keep us up.'"
Well, we did the same with a just a hooker 3 years ago and it worked.

Fair point but that year we sent Faux Balloon back home this time around we look likely to have exited Garbutt, Parcell and Kallum Watkins.
Although Sinfield is not going to die wondering which I'd rather have than sitting on our hands

| Agree it’s crazy to be in this position but nothing can be worse than the current incumbents in the halves, hopefully if nothing else Lui arrival pushes Lolohea out early Sutcliffe is never played there again and Myler follows on his way out at the end of next year at the latest.

| Why does Singleton keep getting picked? He’s not good enough for Super League IMO

| I had a look at Singleton's stats across a number of games, and his yardage per carry isn't terrible (although not at top prop level), but he does far too few. A bit 'Kirk-esque' really (where's G1 when you need him?). Merrin has similar yards/carry but runs in far more and makes a shedload of tackles as well.

Singleton was brilliant against Wigan, and he played very well against Wakefield. Thought he was rubbish against Saints though.

He’s the most aggressive player we have and at least shows some fight. Ability-wise, he seemed to peak a couple of years ago but I’ve seen nothing this year to get excited about.

Brilliant isn't a word anyone can use to describe any Rhinos player performance this season.
At best some players have been average whilst the rest have been poor.

You think Merrin's performances can be described as average?
How about Hurrell's 4 try display at KRnt? Average? Lol.

It's frustrating watching the good players we do have crumble under the weight of expectation and lack of quality from their teammates at the moment.
That's why I think if we can just fix up some balance/structural issues with some more quality, we could turn into a decent side quite quickly.
If the side can get Hurrell into decent ball more of the time he'll score tries for fun in SL.

Not long ago we were saying that about Watkins. Sad.

| Singleton made 19 tackles, missed 2 tackles and gave away a penalty, he ran 29 metres in 5 carries.
For a starting prop forward that is embarrassing.

Against Saints? Where he was rubbish as I stated up above. Against Wigan the week before though he was brilliant, and the week before that very good. What about those stats?

| I don't know if Singleton is still injured, he seemed to lose a lot of form through last year for some reason.
If he's popular in the squad I can see him being retained as a rotation prop, but for me although he is tough, he lacks the quality we need.
What we lack IMO is a Fifita type bruiser who has real presence in the middle and can also create something.
One of the intriguing aspects of this year actually is that Wakey look bang out of form now at the wrong time of year...
Catalans is an unpredictable fixture, they will be hurting and seeing Leeds as a good opportunity to get back on track.
We also struggle with the most physical sides (even if they're in the Championship...).
I'd have to tip us to win this one though because the urgency of the situation now can't be lost on anyone. I do think if we can snaggle Lui is will help, and it's Watkins' final game? There should be enough factors along with home advantage to get us the win, but we must start well this week and deny Catalans momentum and confidence.
