Definitely our best player. Turner was awful defensively and nothing really came off in attack for him. Bateman murdered him.
Whether Kyle Amor plays on Saturday will be the biggest factor as to whether we can win or not. If he doesn't play, I don't see us having the firepower to down Leeds on their own midden. If he plays and in tandem with Walmesley gets us on the front foot early then we've got a chance.

I'm really starting to wonder whether you watched the Saints Wigan game!
Anyway, back on subject our centres will need to show huge improvement defensively if we are to contain Leeds. For some reason LEeds were reticent to shift the ball at Langree, I can't see them adopting the same approach at Headingley.

I must not have done, as I thought Lomax was really poor.
But then again, don't forget when I said Turner had a good game I was talking about attacking. When you pointed out defence I double checked to the stats, which as I said show he was the better of the Saints backs in this regards.
Personally, I think because of how good a player Lomax is, and home grown, Saints fans may well have a little of the rose tinted specs when it comes to his true performances. You are not alone, we have them here with Leeds players also.

In the Wigan game, lomax was outstanding in attack, but very poor in defence. He was incredibly laboured moving to cover at full back for at least 2 of the Wigan tries - he should of snuffed them out long before Wigan got any support to the ball carrier.
That said lomax has been generally one of our best players this year (so has jones, but for some inexplicable reason is always over looked by the saints fans)

| Looking forward to this and with 2 games against the Pies plus an away trip to Cas Vegas in there aswell this will imo be the toughest period of our season outside the play offs.
Its the CC Leeds v ST's & imo form goes out of the window I just hope we play better than we did at LP with the ball especially.
I'm going for us by between 4/7 points.

Super League site. www.superleague.co.uk, go to matchday and results, then report at the side of the match you want.
I am glad to see the other Saints fan agreed with what I said.

| Quote ="Gotcha"I noticed the wink but unsure why?
Of the games I have seen of Saints this year, I must say Turner has been the guy who has really impressed me. Looks a really good player this year, and possibly test centre.
Not seen that many Saints games Gotcha but those I did see on TV I thought Turner looked poor.
This is also based on what many Saints fans see in Turner.
For me Jones is much better at centre than Turner hence the wink where I would rather see Turner than Jones.
Lomax for me again from limited experience of watching him has been the standout player and certainly won the game for Saints the last time we played them.
By the way you put me in qoutes for a previous comment but I think you might find it was someone else talking about Saints defence.

I agreed, I just thought he wasn't good in the Wigan game, and especially defensively.
Your right on the quote, apologies for that.

| This sentellins team will certainly take some stopping in their relentless pursuit of yet another CC.
I probably look forward to saints games more than any other due to the friendly rivalry and chilled out supporters. Hopefully saturdays game will live up to expectations.

Saints are more than capable of shutting down leeds 3/4's. Saints halfbacks and pack is better. Saints 3/4's aren't too shabby either. What's the bet theres another Makinson special in the corner, 4ft off the ground this time, sending Jonathon davies into raptures.

| Ok not wanting to turn this into a Saints thread but
Turner first then Lomax
Tries 1 - 0
Assists 0 - 1
tackles 18 - 3
Missed T 2 - 2
Busts 2 - 5
Carries 10 - 17
Meters 59 - 180
Average M 5.9 - 10.59
Clean Breaks 1 - 2
Errors 0- 1
Offloads 2 - 1
To me that puts Lomax ahead as the performer in that match on stats alone.

Turner 2 missed tackles? No chance those stats are accurate.

| Looking forward to this one. We desperately need a win in this one to validate everything we did over easter. We looked soft and unmotivated against Wigan and we rested most of our best players against Widnes. That was all with this game in mind, so we need to back that up to stop our bubble from well and truly bursting! I do worry that we're a little of the boil at the moment though, even without easter coming into play. I fear Leeds will win, as they usually do when it matters ![Sad icon_sad.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_sad.gif)

That's where I was coming from with his defence was better.
I can't really push it though, as the same stats people had Briscoe down as 4 errors on Monday.

| Really don't know about this one, the fact that Saints really took their foot off the gas over Easter frightens me a little. It's as if they were prepared to drop a position or two in readiness for Saturday.
If we start the game like we did against Salford it'll be over before half time. I think we're stronger in the 3/4's so that's where we should channel our energies. If Amor's playing they'll match us in the forwards and they've enough quality in their halves to cause serious damage, especially Walsh.
Toughest game of the season so far IMO.

| There appears to be a bit of a buzz and feeling of genuine anticipation surrounding this CC game which may indicate the possibility of registering a rare five-figure attendance for an event which isn't covered by a season ticket, cheap offers and free tickets.

I'm not interested in it. Being to all games this year but the challenge cup. Really don't care win or lose this week. Don't get me wrong, always want Leeds to win, but won't be as disappointed if we lose Saturday as I was other week against them.
