If you're driving, park on Eccles RL, much better option and only a 15 minute walk from the ground.

If on public transport, the 67 from the centre of Manchester would drop you by the pubs or just by the ground. You could also get a train to Patricroft from Victoria - it is about a 35/40 minute walk, depending on the pace you're going at, but there's 3 or 4 good pubs along the route to break it up.

Park at Eccles Rugby League club for £3. You'll be back on the motorway and probably at Huddersfield before the cars parked at the stadium are even off the stadium carpark.

Apart from anything else, you'll be putting money into the amateur game. Call in for a pre-match drink and a bite to eat - you'll be made to feel very welcome.

£15 is far too steep for a Cup game imo and i reckon the club would make far more charging £10 per head.

The eccles rugby league club option is great, however the walk is about 25/30 mins, so consider the ability of the people in your party before deciding to park there, but no issues getting away afterwards good for that, and a very friendly club for a drink aswell.

Our own players monitor the car park all the time the vehicles are parked there - which is more than they do at the stadium or the Trafford Centre. Not even sure whether the Airfield have their car park monitored. We don't expect any more problems than you would have round your own ground, to be fair.

You obviously had too much to drink in our club before you went to the stadium - and was taking one step forward and two steps back



Seriously, I've only ever heard the length of the walk described as about 15 minutes, but it does depend on a few factors I suppose though.

I wouldn't recommend the official car park either, we were an hour and a half waiting to be let out.

Was going to try and park in the Trafford Centre but walk rather than take the bus - does anyone know long it takes to walk from the Trafford Centre? Is the park and ride easy to find once you come off the motorway, the map on Salford's website isn't very clear.

You can walk from the trafford centre but with the ship canals only foot crossing being on redcliffe rd you would have one long walk.

If you use the park & ride come off the motorway at junc 9 and get in lane two (lane one is trafford centre only) then take the A5081 as you pass the car park entrance to the trafford centre you will see a sign for the B5211 Barton Dock Rd take this road down the ramp at the lights turn left and go up to the roundabout then take first left as you go under the welcome to the trafford centre sign the park and ride entrance is on your left it is a bit hidden. if you miss the entrance go to the roundabout and double back this car park opens about noon first bus should leave about 12:30

if you visit the shops earlier when you want the bus go out of the centre through John Lewis store and you should see four large floodlight pylons and some shipping containers that's the park and ride area

I think we're gonna try the eccles rl option, my dad delivers round there and says it is'nt too far away. For all those choosing the big car park after the game watch for the supporters coaches leaving and follow them. We did last time it still took 45 mins to get out but there was loads left in the car park after us.

You can walk from the Trafford Centre - looking from the front of it with the M60 to your left,head to the right of the Premier Inn facing you and walk down the road with the electricity sub-station on your left/DIY car park on the right.(That's a DIY shop car park - the one with the orange signage )
Walk over Barton Bridge - narrow footpath on both sides;heavy stream of traffic for Trafford Centre.
Go along Peel Green Road (1st left over the bridge ) and join Liverpool Road.

Firstly, would recommend Eccles RL, we parked there for the SL game. When we got back the RL lads were indeed still around supervising the car park, so it is very secure.

Second, 15 mins is over-ambitious for the walk unless you are walking very quickly! It took us around 20 to 25 to get get directly outside the ground and we were walking at an average pace. It is still a good 5 minutes walk from the main road to outside the ground as it is set a fair way back!

We're hoping to get over early enough for a few jars in the club before walking on the ground, my old man thinks about 25 mins.

It amazes me when you see the likes of Coachmasters on the Wire board offering £5-10 travel to go to the likes of Bradford.

Imagine what the club made on travel to Wembley last year at £40 a seat, despite only charging (IIRC) £20 to Quins.
