And surely Pitts has taken Clarksons place after last night.'"
I think the title of the thread is stating a fact not an opinion. Webb did get MoM on Sky.
McGuire was better though I would say Webb wasn't that bad...he had one of his better games in defence and despite bombing a few half-chances was involved in a lot of our trys.
Pitts had a great game. What a lot of competition we have for places this year. As another example BJB seems to have re-found his form and will be difficult for smith to displace.

| Personally I think Webb was good going forward. I though down the left they were all pretty decent passes which Hardaker overran and in one instance went for a pass that was intended for hall. I thought Hardaker had a bit of a mare last night but he's a young lad finding his feet and will make mistakes but will be worth it long term

| Just seeing the game on tv I would have to disagree with pretty much everyone. Webb made a huge contribution, he got through a tremendous amount of work, ran the ball out hard and cleared our lines repeatedly. He also pulled off a try saving tackle in the second half that I doubt many other full backs would have the strength to do.
His passing was mixed, but the Hall try ruled out was not because of his pass, Hardakers was forward. In the second half the interception try was because Hardaker overran the play and we had nobody covering (which is usually done for those types of attacks). You also have to give a lot of credit to excellent Cas defence, they read our attacks really well and worked tremendously hard.
Webb did bomb one score but the guy was involved in so much good stuff I really don't know what you want?

| At the game DHM it appeared Webb was as much to blame as Hardaker for the bombed tries/missed opportunities so without watching the t.v that was what i based my opinion on and like i posted i thought Delaney or Abbo should of got it however i'm not gonna lose sleep over it nor do i think he's finished.

| Didn't think Webb was that bad last night, him and Hardaker seemed to have some timing issues down the left hand side and I thought at times Webb held on to the ball a touch too long.
All in all I couldn't really pick a man of the match, it was a real team effort and you could see the players, even when Cas made a comeback, had real confidence in their game. They stuck to their guns and got the result.

Where will he be playing next year is the question ... Be tough with Ellis, JJB, Ablett, Delaney, Hauraki, Clarkson, Pitts..

I also thought Ablett was mom.
You have also to give credit to some excellent Cas defence for the chances we didn't convert. They put our attacking line under a lot of pressure.

Fair point mate they got stuck in and kept their shape for a lot of the game.

Brent Webb was awful last night and the decision to hand him M.O.M i bet even he was ashamed of.

| Having just watched the game again, my opinion of Brent Webb's performance is unchanged from my initial opinion last night. He was very good, very sharp and reaffirmed the fact that he is still the best fullback at the club.
Opinions on a players level of performance should be based on their level of performance and not influenced by what is read on this forum.

| I too thought Webb was excellent, despite a couple of sloppy passes.
However, I'd have given McGuire MOM. He was very dangerous. After two big games against Widnes and Cas I'll be watching McGuire closely next week against better opposition.
In the forwards Ablett was immense and Pitts was very industrious. On work rate alone Pitts should have moved ahead of Clarkson in the packing order. On first glance I think Kirke made about 3 carries.

| Just caught the end of the 5 live extra commentary last night. Iestyn Harris, a man who knows more than I do about full back play, rated Webb's performance highly.
Then again, Stevo, who presumably knows more than I do about playing centre, always seemed to rate Joel Tomkins.
