Quote: RhinoNeil "Im struggling to get my head around this one.

Starting
13, Sinfield

Bench:
14, Diskin
15, Eastwood
16, Ali
17, ????

I think our starting pack is pretty much nailed on as how i have listed above, apart from Ablett. Ablett was a regular 2nd row starter last term and i think given the amount of game time he gets he could have a big season. So if we presume Ablett is starting at 2nd row.

I think Burgess is going to have a massive year, before the boxing day clash i said that, and after witnessing his motm display on boxing day im certain he will have huge year. Pitts is tipped for massive things and he will be pushing for first team action. Kirke is a 2 time SL winnner. Bailey is a 4 time SL winner. Amor has just picked up National League prop of the year.

.
kirke's a 3 time winner

my pack would be :

kylie
buderus
peacock
jjb
ali
sinfield

bench

eastwood
ablett
burgess
bailey

Amor important role than Bailey or Burgess?

It's hard to tell. If he applies himself properly and progresses in a professional environment then I reckon he's got the potential to be infinately better than those two.

TBF mate we have a few decent youngsters further down the line and hopefully the new u20 comp and possible dual registration will enhance their development into challenging for a 1st team spot.

IMO he's not been the same player for the last 12-18 months as he was in his first season at Leeds. It's a similar situation to the way Fielden has gone downhill after being asked to play 65-70 minutes every week.'"

Can't say I've noticed. In fact, I don't remember his first season at Leeds being particularly outstanding, but then my memory is not what it was. You have to remember he is 32 now so to get to his age as a prop playing so well still is outstanding, and with not an ounce of complaint.

well I can't understand anybody discounting Bailey after the season end performances. Ablett is a workhorse and I rate him but i think he may well fall behind in the pecking order and the young forwards will have to wait a little longer, but not Burgess I believe he's ready and able to start the games, glad its not my decision, but here goes
Webb
Donald
Delaney
Senior
Hall
Mcguire
Burrow
Burgess
Buderus
J P
Kirke
JJB
Sinfield
subs
Ali
Eastwood
Bailey
Kylie

I'm glad we have such a strong pack with such depth. Putting pressure on each other for a place in the pack can only be good!

Bluey will rotate his pack next season, a fact that he has already alluded to. So all the squad players will get plenty of game time throughout the season.

So IMO all the packs chosen will prove to be a hypothetical pack, as all of these packs will probably start numerous games throughout the season

A better question would have been:
If all the squad are fit, and were playing at the top of their game, and the Rhinos made either the Challenge Cup Final or the Grand Final, then the squad that Bluey would pick would be:

That's just stupid. They'll be far too slow.

A real tough one, shows our strength in depth next year.

Webb

Delaney

Hall
McGuire
Burrow
Leuluai
Diskin
Peacock
Eastwood
Jones-Buchannan
Sinfield

Buderus
Lauitiiti
Burgess
Bailey

I think it would be. Tough on Ablett and Kirke if they did miss out though.

I personally don't think that Diskin and Buderus will be both in the final 17 man squad should we make either final

Imo the Diskin/Buderus rotation doesn't work

IMO Bluey will go with an extra out and out forward on the bench

I don't agree with your assessment of Peacock but think you have your comparison with Fielden all to cock any road.

Fielden was immense when playing 80 mins at the Bulls. He was rarely subbed. He went downhill at Wigan but was not being asked to play 65-70 mins. He was being spelled in rotation. Fieldens' decline has little to do with any change in game time, IMO, but in any event his game time has reduced since he was at his best.

I think AG is referring to Fielden having been worn down after playing 65-70 (or 80) mins a week over most of his career, rather than a having a recent change to playing that kind of time.

On Peacock's side is that he had a later start to his top level career, so has less miles on the clock.

I feel, to get the best out of Peacock he has to play long spells. Perhaps it might be better that he get the occasional week off, although that is still no substitute for a proper off-season.
