Well we were led to believe by GH that if the SS is not rebuilt "now"it will have to close, because we will not get another safety certificate. So the "really good constuctive meetings"with LCC must have amounted to some kind of consession because the SS will be open for next season.

| According to Radio Humberside - how you interpret the reliability of this source is up to you - Hull FC have reached a settlement with the Inland Revenue over the image rights issue. They have agreed to pay a not insubstantial sum of around £1m. It's quite possible that we may end up paying a similar sum, if not more. If so, it's hardly surprising that work on the South Stand has been deferred.

nope. hull have reached an agreement over EBT's (the so called singapore sling) which arent the same thing as image rights.

Building control aren't usually in the business of offering concessions & even if they have, that doesn't amount to an offer from the council to fund any necessary repairs.
As I posted elsewhere, when I was there for the cricket at the start of September, test holes had been drilled around the perimeter of the South Stand. Possibly they showed that it is safe for another period of time.
Inflatable Armadillo (who's been absent from here for a while) could advise better than me.
It smacks of brinkmanship from GH if you ask me.

| I think that the main reason for the meeting which involved YCCC was to look at all the options for developing the entire stadium.
As ever finance is the major stumbling block so it was important to get all the interested parties round the table to discuss an overall timetable & to gauge the council's view.
It's worth mentioning that due the amount of money owed by YCCC to the council (borrowed to buy their part of the ground & to fund previous redevelopments) the council has a representative on the YCCC board.

Maybe they'll offer to write off the loan to YCCC for a vastly reduced price - they've got previous for stiffing the rate/council tax payers of the city in their dealings with professional sports clubs after all.
As long as a few councillors get some freebies for Tests and ODIs in a nice comfortable executive box, obviously.

I would assume so, and the same with the buy a brick campaign. What was it £500 for a brick with your name on

Prone to exaggeration eh Ferdy?
£500 would buy you 5 bricks and you'd have change from that. A snip at £90 a brick - the 500 comes in as there are only 500 bricks allegedly.

but even Gary wouldn't have the cheek to ask supporters to pay £500 a brick well I don't think he would.

| The Buy a Brick scheme is for the North Stand isn't it? I thought it was for in the players tunnel near the changing rooms.

| My understanding from good souces is that the delay in the SS is not due to any lack of funds. It had to be delayed as they ran out of time and it would not be ready in time for next season after deplays due to planning approval on redesign. It should now go ahead in time for the following season.
