Wigan are a rough tough side - as Saints have showed you need to match them physically - their attack is very one dimensional similar play all the time. The question is can you commit as many players into the tackle as Wigan for the extended period they do - if you can you will beat them.

A fair assessment. The first step has to be matching their ferocity in the tackle - not the silly, nut-to-the-face antics of Bateman - rather the stuff that actually hurts. And rather than adopting countering by lying on/interfering it's much better to play with a well-organised, quick-thinking defence. Let them have their quick ptbs. They actually make a lot of mistakes when they try to play quickly. And avoid kicking to Bowen. The antipathy of some Wigan fans to him is quite bizarre - although I suppose he is in the unenviable position of having had to fill their poster boy's boots. He can be an absolute menace on his day. That's my recipe for success, anyhow.
But of course we must deal with Saints first. |

After reading all of this tripe without actually giving any praise for a tough workman like performance i really hope Saints stuff you lot tonight. After your Challenge Cup and LLS successes the majority of Wiganers gave you credit. The hatred for Wigan is a joke on South Stander. COYS

From a neutral perspective, a Wigan Vs Leeds final is a game we haven't seen for quite some time. Could be a classic if both teams go into the game in good shape.
From a Leeds perspective, isn't it premature to be discussing the club we might play in the final before we get there? Beating Saints will be no small achievement given how shaky Leeds have looked recently.
