Not when you’re not paying them no.

| Quote: RHINO-MARK "Another "project" signing ,defensively he's as much use as a traffic cone that's already a major weakness so adding more woes to it makes no sense at all.'"
The difference is that the old regime signed up 'project' players on long contracts, whereas Furner and co. are being more cautious.
Honestly, what have we got to lose? No-one is talking about giving him a three year deal.
As has been pointed out we're almost threadbare in the forwards now, including Holroyd.
We also need to replace the likes of Ferres, Ablett and JJB (hopefully!) at the end of the season, if not earlier. Hopefully Cameron Smith will kick on and get promotion; the likes of Donaldson and Albert can prove whether they are worthy of a squad place in the coming games.
Some posters seem to imply Leeds should only promote youth and sign the very highest quality players from other teams, but what if a) the kids aren't ready (Holroyd doesn't look capable of big minutes on a regular basis) and b) the best players aren't available or we can't afford them? The club cannot work miracles in these areas (which some seem to expect), hence the talk of a long transition.

We are looking some quality in the pack full stop, but particularly we lack some physicality.
Albert will bring a bit of that and take a bit of pressure off young Oledski to get us forward (and Peteru).
Tactically he could make a lot of sense, at least until Crosby and /or Ward are back fit.

It doesn't seem so, reading the YEP piece. Presumably Leeds would have to trigger a more formal playing contract of some description first.

| Has a good offload game and that's it.
Positioning is awful just stands around like a lemon and runs in like Anthony knees Mullally and he's injury prone.
Apart from that he's ok.....

You shouldnt spend SC space for the sake of it either.
The facts are the kids are "Good enough" & we have too many ordinary players in the squad already.
As for Holroyd not being capable of big minutes how do you know he's been around the 1st team all of 5 minutes & not once looked out of place.

| Risk free signing, he looks good in attack with a great offload. Question marks about his defence, but that could improve, he doesn’t have a massive amount of experience at Super League.

Actually I think when people see more of Holroyd they’ll be surprised at his engine. If anything he probably needs to try less hard and conserve his fuel a bit because for 120kg he flies around.
If he can focus his energy into those explosive moments he’s capable of he’ll be a handful even for grown men.

I know mate ive watched him for the last 3 years another major plus imo is that he's as destructive in the 70th minute as he is in the 1st.

| Has anyone got a clue where Crosby is? The club say nothing much about long term injuries. We gave the guy a contract on the back of a decent end to last season; since then - he has disappeared in to the ether.

He was under the south stand last night acing an interview and he said he’s 99% certain he’ll get the green light on Monday to go back to full impact training. I think he said he’s aiming for earlier than the end of April but I think the end of is more realistic.

| Wellington Albert could make his debut V HKR on Thursday night. Possibly signing a short term deal.

I’m happy with that given his style and the injuries in the pack.
Interesting comments from Furner in the press conf. Obviously considering McLelland for the halves, but sounds like will go with Tui. I thought he was alluding to the fact that it’s a defensive problem on the right if he plays him.
Again, if Lolohea is a headache to accommodate due to defence then I can’t see him remaining at the club unfortunately. Looks like his best position is probably FB, but he’s not going to get past Walker when he’s fit and in form.
