He would certainly be a gamble. whilst I think he could do a reasonable job in SL, we need a half who can do more than just hold his own, we need someone who can come in and play at a title winning level and intensity from day one.

Not exactly a long list of those around though.

That's the problem, it's not like there is a few Sinfield-type players around the game.

Should accept we aren't going to find someone along those lines and find new strengths (the new props) and continue with our good work in the backs.

I would be happy for our club to take on a pacy half back and Brierley and Ryan Hampshire certainly tick that box

As neither would be on a massive contract if they joined then it's a worthwhile project unless the club has better options

I don't believe it either as the 'Million Pound Game' takes place the week before the GF. Strong chance Leigh are playing in that and can't see GH or Leeds waiting until the first week of October to know if they've got a new HB for next year.

To be fair I don't think it has ever been suggested by the person that said it, that the condition of promotion is from Brierley. The suggestion is he has agreed to join,and is desperate to join.

The condition is by the Leigh club, as to whether they let him go.

I still don't think Leeds would do business that way. However, I also think they might have signed him.

Richie Myler and Danny Brough have evidently done better than Liam Finn but that's not the case with James Webster.

Well it was heavily rumored, or should I say 'facted' by certain individuals on twitter, that if Leigh failed to win promotion then he was going to be at Leeds in 2016. I said at the time that that was the biggest load of nonsense I've heard in a long time. No way would GH sign a half back on the 50/50 terms of Leigh getting promoted by then the talent pool has well and truly been signed sealed and delivered. HOWEVER the longer Leeds go on without a half back replacement for Kev signed up the more likely that ridiculous bit of business is true...

If Brierley is Kevs replacement then I will be massively underwhelmed! McGuire will take Kevs reigns on the captaincy front, so technically speaking he is the replacement with Brierley taking the old Danny McGuires role of been the snappy elusive half back.

Unfortunately not, the only way Ryan will be a Leeds player next season is if Leigh don't get promoted.
