Just watched Boots n All and note that they intend to have regular catch-ups with Tomkins to see how he's getting on. Why?

You wonder why a British Rugby League TV programme might follow the fortunes of a star British Rugby League player, one who used to work on programmes with the TV station in question?

I too enjoyed the half asleep mumblings of Mr Tomkins and look forward to regularly seeing him dazed and confused in his PJ's.

Exactly. Unfortunately the feckw[ii[/it attitude of many Leeds fans towards Tomkins appears to cloud what it would be polite to call their judgement whenever they see his face or hear his name.

and did sky follow other players who have gone to the NRL?
or just the one they fawn over?

I don't have Sky, so it makes no odds to me either way.

I don't watch NRL, don't have time. It's right to question what relevance Tomkins has to Skys coverage of Super league.

Ity would make sense if he were a regular guest on Premier Sports but until he's back pulling on an England/GB jersey I'm not really that interested in watching Eddie fawn over him.

Sky are a private company, they're not license-funded like the beeb. They can fill their programs with whatever they want (within reasonable ethical and legal constraints - we know Murdoch-led media groups would never engage in unethical or illegal journalism). Watch, don't watch. Subscribe, don't subscribe. No point getting all outraged about it.

They could launch a Sam Tomkins channel if they want to. It's up to you whether you pay for it or watch it.
