Orford isnt gonna stop the next 7 coming thru from wigan, at mo they have leulai who plays there so its aussie for a kiwi, at 7 in this country we have burrow, myler, long, deacon, brough, robinson, thorman who are all british so ageing no.7 signing for wigan aint gonna affect us in an international sense..it would be different if they had someone who could step up and who couyld play there for britain but they havent..burrow should be england no 7 along with brough for next 5 - 7 yrs then myler will take over if eh hasnt by then already.

Its fb, wing, centre we need to find, we have ones that can make do at mo but we need to find ones that can compete with the aussie versions..we havent got a folau/inglis etc like they have and scary thing is they have 10 yrs at the international level before they need to find anymore..until we sort our backline out we will always be 10yrs behind them..ainscough being kept out by phelps, crookes(even tho hes injured at mo) being kept out by nero, penny being kept out by hicks etc..

We all know that england always goes for the safe options..burrow is dependable and has been there and done it..hes not past it and poses a bigger threat than myler..whilst myler is doing it in sl international is a completely different ball game..briscoe shouldnt have to wait around for wellens to retire but hes a safer option..ainscough shouldnt have to wait around for garbage to retire but hes a safer option..atkins with gleeson..tomkins with maguire..you cant just throw kids in cos theyve done ok for their club for a few weeks.

Isnt he english trained tho so even tho hes said hes samoan or whatever for international game he is classed as home grown..am sure he came thru their ranks.

Robbie paul is kiwi, but is classed as federation trained, if he signed for bradford again he`d be classed as home grown cos of time spent in academy being with bulls 3 and half seasons before his 21st birthday.

Whilst they continue to have noble in charge and sign average players like phelps,coley and phil bailey it's irrelevant who they "target" imo.

While I agree with your point, I don't know if I'd feel comfortable with Ainscough and Penny as a wing partnership. The likes of Thurston, Lockyer, Marshall, even Thomas Bosc would have a field day putting balls in the air to them.

Maybe it is good that they are eased in so that they don't quite believe the hype that is being placed on them. Look at how Penny has ended up after being touted as 'The Next Martin Offiah'. The only comparison I can currently make is that he plays at Widnes.

As we are looking for overseas players, I am at least glad that we are going for top class players instead of average overated aussies who can only get in a super league team because of their accent. Leeds had the right idea by signing players like Webb and Buderus.

Coley is a very under rated player. Not dissing our players but our equivalent is Kirke, and Coley is far better than that.

Interesting comparison when you consider coley was one of their "marquee" signings and we got kirke from the national league!
I personally would pick kirke on his contract over coley.
FWIW i've always thought coley was over-rated especially when karl harrison used to bang on about him at salford and he's done nothing to change my mind since he went to the pies.

I heard Wigan's target list was: Luke Robinson, Sean Briscoe, Lee Gilmour, David Hodgson, Terry Newton, Martin Aspinwall, Stephen Wild, Kevin Brown, Danny Tickle and Micky Higham.

It'll cost them a fair bit to prise those players away from their current clubs, I'm sure.
