| Quote ="Simmo71"Very good hindsight punditry.
The tactics in the second half were totally different, much better line speed and intensity.
We won't win many games if we play like we did in the first half, but we'll win plenty if we play like we did in the second.
And if Cats had scored 10 more tries in the first half, they'd have led by 70.
If's and buts are irrelevant.'"
only hindsight punditry if you wet your knickers at half time mate
1st half was an even contest, as seen by even Sam Tomkins
but for 2 decisions we'd have been going in only 2 behind and it all to play for
anyone with eyes could see how dangerous we were when we were in attacking position the 1st half, and knew not to worry
shame you embarrased yourself with your posts but ah well

Let’s not turn this into a slanging match and point scoring contest. It’s a day for us all to enjoy as fans…..

| Unbelievable game to attend. The roof nearly came off for Newman's second try. 1st half showed (we already knew) that we are a supporters nightmare when we shoot ourselves in both feet. Second half showed that we are perhaps the most exciting side in the league when everything clicks. Just need to be better at the boring stuff. Pearce's try was right in front of me and it looked like a definite double movement. Will be interested to have a look on TV.

Totally agree Matts and there are a couple more coming through too. I can see us having 12/17 home grown first teamers even next year. That side can only get better over the next 5 years or so.

| It also helped that it was a relatively dry track, I think we’ll see some great stuff as the weather improves.
On one thing OConner was outstanding and ran whenever he needed to, I honestly don’t think we’ll miss leeming

| Be very interested to hear Leemings take when he eventually speaks out. O'connor was very good and we saw more of him looking to carry the ball when the opportunity came. Decent run out for Johnson too.

Listening to Smiths presser it does look like Johnson will now get a decent go of it, he spoke highly of him

If O’Connor stays fit it offers Johnson a brilliant way in. He can be used for second half bursts, and bigger minutes when we’re on top.

We were never going to miss Leeming imho…
I am taken aback with just how good O’Connor can be though. Was watching him very closely and impressed with every facet of his game. Even his running game was very good. He timed the passes to Lisone and Sangare really well to get us on front foot. Then his long passing to half back was impressive. We all know is an aggressive defender as well. I honestly think spine isn’t as bad as we perhaps thought…..

| So didn’t watch it live, out for a family meal. Few things stand out to me. Generally our skill levels are not good enough to play the way that RS is asking us to, but sometimes it sticks and we get a second half like we did today.
We’re much better when we are aggressive in defence, we’re not able to back up the passive defence with a strong goal line. RS needs to recognise the players he’s coaching just as much as the style he’s asking them to play.
Special mentions to Austin, his best game in a Leeds shirt. Also Tetevano who finally out in a marquee tackle (on McMeeken). O’Connor was very good (and CJ busy when he came on). Last but by no means least, cracking finish from Derrell Olpherts, outstanding handoff on Pearce to push over the line.
Masses and masses to fix still, but a step forward.

Maybe he's assessing the full game rather than just the second half....

Agree with a lot of that Batley. Thought Tetevano was very good today. His defence and running out wide was superb. Olpherts did very well. Credit to them both, they’ve had a fair bit of stick but played well today. Now need the consistency

Tetavano has been good all season. Even at Cas he ran hard and tackled the same. If we let him go he'll have no problem getting another club in SL. The sad thing is that he was never, and never will be, the kind of metre eating prop the coaching staff and the fan base wanted for 2021. Agar's folly. I still think on balance that he probably needs to move on for 24, but I don’t think anyone could argue that he's not worth his place in the starting 13 at the moment. Good for him.

| What a game.
Austin and O'Connor played their best games so far. Was great to see O'Connor do so well at Hooker.
Was nice to see error free performances from CJ and Olpherts, even if only fir 20 mins or so

I’d try and keep him. Seems very popular within the group, and no one else in the squad could have hit Mcmeeken that hard. But let’s see what Rohan thinks……

That shouldn’t really bother you as a fan. Up to the club what they pay him. He’s very much contributing to this group as a senior pro….

| I’ve rewatched the game, drank some beer and have now convinced myself that we’re about to see the start of a Rhinos rampage into the Grand Final against Warrington.
There’s some serious strike again in the team. Nene looks the real deal and probably the best runner I’ve seen since Senior or Innes. Once Newman is fully fit and calms down a bit then that pairing will be devastating. Martin should stay in the centre until Handley returns.
The pack finally now has plenty of size and strength in depth. Holroyd and McDonnell look very solid. Tetevano is obviously playing for a new contract and been good for a few games now. Cam Smith is superb and should be our captain and ball playing pack leader for years to come. Mik is a reasonable 6th prop too!
Now Spring has finally sprung we should really start to see some great attacking rugby again. Myler is returning to form. Austin was great today. Just need Sezer to get more involved, run more and take on the line.
The future is bright.

| We can’t keep Tet (or Fusitu’a) next year unless they are willing to take big pay cuts.
Actually with Oledski due back soon and Holroyd in good form, Walters coming through as a middle I can’t see Tet getting back in at prop unless injuries hit.
Smith has 13 sewn up leaving Martin, Gannon, McDonnell, Bentley, Tet fighting for 2 starting back row slots.
It is wonderful to have so much competition to get into that Leeds pack now after so many years where it just wasn’t good enough.
