| Great game tonight against a hungry Saints side so I can't really use the game tonight as case evidence for your decline.

Agree.
Will the RFL fine Leeds for the South Stand chants at James Graham?

| If this is what decline is all about then I’m up for it. Leeds v St Helens tonight was one of the best games of the season.

I see a team trying to get to grips with a new coach's style of play. It's the best and worst kind of rugby.

I can't agree with that.
Saint were far better and deserved the win however I thought that it was one of the weaker saints side, and even last years team could have beaten them.
I thought we were lucky to be as close as we were. The hardacker try was embarrasingly forward.
I for one would like us to play more conservitive rather than just throwing the ball around in stupid positions and running around like headless chickens.
I agree that we look like we are struggling to come to terms with a new style, but I would question the style and think we need to hang onto the ball more

| Saints were the better of two poor teams. Neither team created anything of significance, moreover relying on the failings of the other team to score. On current form I'd be surprised to see either of these teams at Old Trafford at the end of the season.
So far this season Leeds have beaten Bradford (in a game they should have lost), a Hull team that have won only one game all year, and a Salford team who fell apart alarmingly last week. They have now lost to Harlequins, Warrington and Saints, two of which were at home, and they have lost to the only serious contenders in their two meetings with them so far.
This has the hallmarks of a very long season, I just hope that our younger players don't suffer from the confusion that we currently are seeing in the team.

| Can't help feeling that a Leeds side that does click, will once again be a verry hard team to beat. Hopefully McDermott is given the chance to do this, RL is in the entratainment business, not the tripe that Wigoon are boring the world with now.

I just think that it was a good game all round. Yeah it wasn’t perfect – but what’s perfection anyways?
It was too evenly matched teams and Saints were the better team on the day. Jamie Jones had an horrendous day though.

But there is a balance between the two which we haven't got yet, we are not going forward, offloading in stupid positions and trying to fling it wide without earning the right first. Wigan might be boring but I I am honest I would rather that than offloading without a clue.

You think? I think he had a really good game. Yes he was unlucky with both the Moore penalty and the 'knock-on' decision shortly after, but his enthusiasm and go-forward was excellent. Thought Kirke looked good too.

I think it’s just my interpretation of what I call a good game is different to what you’d call a good game.
I don’t think we we’re all that lucky. I think that we’ve shaped up in defence a bit. This certainly looked like a better Leeds team than the one’s we saw previous to last weeks game.
I agree that we need to get the basics right first by play conservatively. I’d personally only like to see them chance their arm with the fancy stuff when their at least 12 points up from the opposition. That way, if we let in a try from a silly mistake it won’t be as costly.
Finally I think this Leeds side is struggling, but it all lies with the coach. As you have said we could of beaten that side last year.

| Leeds tonight looked like a team who had been coached by someone from basketball who knew nothing about Rugby League. I love Rob Burrow but what was his "supposed" role in that team. Watkins, yes he is young but was awful, a very talented player, he needs to learn when to "stick or twist" and how to defend. The game was yours for the taking, but the composure "game plan" was terrible.

I probably was been a bit harsh on him. I’d probably have to watch the game again to pass judgement on his performance as a whole. But that part of the game you’ve just mentioned sticks with me the most. It just seemed that he lost it a bit!

I didn't think kirke was particulary good. I thought JJB was playing ok too but sadly back to back mistakes cost the team. I wouldn't say I was massively impressed with any of the forward pack to be honest

That's what dissapointed me the most saints were there for the taking. But credit to them they deserved the win, but I think we blew a good chance. Can't really argue with any of the above, other than to add I thought hardacker looked good and I thought mcshane did in his stint( also looked alot fitter than I have seen him before)

I suppose it is a different interpretation. I couldn't really enjoy it because we don't seem to have any real structure and just throw the ball about without earning the right.
I do agree regarding defence it has improved but even then there were some mistakes.
I don't mind the players throwing it about in the right areas, but it seems more like pannic rather than offloading

I can understand in wanting some structure in attack after tonight’s display. I agree with you that it was more panic play rather than offloading. But there’s no doubt that the best tries in the game come spontaneously. Unfortunately the Rhinos didn’t lay the platform in attack that’d allow such wonderful tries. No disrespecting to the saints’ defence tonight though.

No I agree saints played and defended well. And while yes the best tries are "off the cuff" I think one of our problems all our attemps seem to be off the cuff, as said before we need a better balance. Yes we don't want to stop claire play but it cannot all be flair
