There was Phil Adamson going to Saints instead of Matt.

| Quote: Puig-Aubert "They generally lay off the pies a bit more.
Mind you, he had his moment of glory with 2 tries against London (I think) one with a great step to go in from halfway.'"
Spot on.
It was against the Broncos at HQ.
The other try IIRC he bustled over from close range.
I think his main problem was the booze and being shy of knuckling down.
I remember when we played away at the Eagles in Super League 1 - he tore us to pieces (along with Sheridan).

| Given the form of JJB - it is hard to see how Pitts could perform worse!!!

| What's that film where Benson and Hegdes get called up for England because Ricky Tomlinson writes the team down on the back of a B&H box?
I think you are being overly harsh on JJB. He's been better than Kirke recently.

Was that at Brammall Lane?
Memory is playing tricks. I seem to remember it being there but also remember Sateki Tuipolotu having a stinker but that being at Don Valley.

Not 100% though.
High scoring game I believe as well.

There was a rumour going around in the 1960s that Leeds United tried to sign a young Ray Wilson from Huddersfield Town. Unfortunately for the United scout, at the reserves game where Wilson was playing, he'd swapped from left back to right back and Leeds signed a complete dumbo left back!

Signed a decent left back from there in the early 70s though

That's the one!!
Case closed!
I remember Eagles away (at Don Valley) a couple of years previous to the above mentioned game. We lost also. Not a great record there is those days. I remember Neil Harmon coming off the bench and putting in a Man Of The Match display in defeat!! God awful game. Sounds it as well with old Harmo getting MOM.

| You've a better memory than me. I'll have been there but no recollection.
SL2 would be the comeback year I think with Harris slotting the winning penalty from halfway (or a few metres in thanks to back chat from Broadbent) with the last play. I remember that!

Hethrington at this time was still supremo at Eagles.
He joined Leeds the following year and brought the cream of the Eagles with him.
Hence, Lawford.
