| 1st half was just a two teams who didn't play conditions well and slugged away at each other.
2nd half we looked very goof granted Cas are a poor team but you can only beat what's in front of you Miller, Momirovski & Croft all turned their skills on in 2nd half and it was great to watch. Lisone was great off the bench he did exactly what you'd expect a impact prop off the subs to do. A Much needed win after a couple of poor results. Hopefully as we move into warmer weather we showcase more quality performances.
On a side note I'm told Tom Holroyd may have fallen out with Rohan Smith and he could be looking for a way out of the club only time will tell.

His absence was really odd on a heavy pitch today - I suspected he’d been dropped for the daft penalty he conceded against Saints.
I think we need to start looking at games as a whole: we were compressed but not broken in the first half. I thought Cas had blown themselves out trying to Cup Final Leeds again; when we increased the pace second half they struggled to match us.
Lisone changed that game 100%. Makes you wonder what it could do for us having another like him in the middle.
Thought most performances were “solid” but Lisone, Miller, McDonnell, Croft and Handley stood out most.

Agree about Croft, he is class act on the front foot and best games by Miller and Momorovski.
I hope
You are wrong about Holroyd , there have been too many falling out with Smith and wanting out. I can’t believe many if any forwards enjoy playing after you Claude , Rohan ball.

| Holroyd picked up a badly bruised elbow during the Saints game, that's why he didn't play.

| As soon as I saw the conditions I thought the game would be like it was in the first half. The way we defend is incredibly frustrating and frankly, mystifying at times, but we aren't conceding my line breaks, nevermind trys, so it is effective to some degree, but I'm pretty sure if we give Wire anywhere near that amount of sustained pressure and territory like we did in that first half, we'll be lucky to be in the game by HT.
Still, we won the game comfortably despite only having 15 men for the 2nd half in a fixture we struggle in historically, so pretty content overall.

| Don't think we learned anything new from that game. It followed a familiar theme in that we just try and stay in games in the first half. Cas probably played better than they have done recently first half but looked like Leeds when they got in our 25 no structure and clue how to break us down. 2nd half they were gassed and truly awful and we should have put more points on them. Positives all the players generally highlighted. Millar was excellent and thought he was very good defensively as well on a horrible night I think Frawley more culpable for the Cas try. Next week will give us a clearer picture of how and if we are progressing.

| It amazes me how anyone can be bothered to buy smoke bombs/flares (I am a miserable /tight basxxxd,)
Disappointing we had some numpty throw one on the pitch after a try and throw a plastic beer glass on after another , both missed players but we don’t need that nonsense.

| Looking at the highlights; it’s ok saying how bad Cas are but they always raise their game for us.
Couple of our tries were well-worked against a tiring defence. Couple more scrappy jobs - the type of tries we have conceded this year.
Like others have said, we’ll have to put in a better first half to beat Wire.

Some pond life on show in both supporter bases last night honestly. Loved the mature Cas man belting the advertising panel while Martin was taking a practice kick, and then screaming at him when he missed. In the warm up. What a bell.

| Thought McDonnell was excellent, he seems to look bigger every week and certainly put a lot of good size on since last year
Impressive stint from lisone
Im pretty open in that i dont rate Bentley, but he was outstanding in the first half
Hopefully Mom finds some confidence, but despite the trys, im not impressed so far, he looks so weak and passive, hopefully more to come, to play so many games against the monster outside backs in NRL, he must have some physicality about him
Miller and Croft, class again
Overall, happy enough with the win, couple of nice scores and the second half defence had the best intent iv seen for ages, we actually front loaded energy, got off the line and pinned them in there own half, only downside is that its most likely too obvious for Rohan, he'l put a stop to that by next week im sure.

Taken as a whole though we seem to put in strong second halves because we are tiring out the opposition in the first.
I dunno i’ll take the win away to Cas. The conditions have been rubbish all year so far too. I wasn’t delighted with most of that first half either but there are aspects of how we play which are deliberate.

Bentley was, and is often very good defensively, certainly in terms of work rate. My main issue is that he seems to be so ineffective with the ball. I know you need a balance but on the face of it both McDonnell and Martin offer more while not losing much defensively.
I actually thought Mom looked better when he switched sides too.
