Give the poor guy a break. He's only seen 7 winning GFs (2 losing ones) 3 CC wins and 3 WCC wins. It's been a rough trot.

Without knowing the ins and outs, what annoys me about the Walters situation is people are being so black and white with it.
I think ultimately had the kid had a bit more patience, if he’d have wanted to stay, he’d have got the offer he wanted, because he’s earnt it.
As it was he clearly wanted to get his contract sorted very early doors (which he’s entitled to) and things fell the way they did. It’s a shame, but I don’t think it’s the stick to poke the club with that some people seem intent on using it as.

| Auden Sezer confirmed as joining West Tigers. That’s officially going into next season with no starting halfbacks. If we don’t sign one (preferably 2) established halves who have a kicking game, athleticism, and leadership then we will serve up much of the same next year. Replacing 2 halves in any off season is a big enough ask in itself. I wouldn’t be surprised if Myler has suddenly become our starting half for next season now. The club’s ambition will be clear to see based on these signings.

It’s possible that Lachlan Miller has been signed to play there. So that would mean one more.
Miller
?
Sinfield
Myler
With the latter two as back ups to those positions would be ok depending on who the question mark ends up being. Personally I’d try for Schneider from KR.

Surprised at Sezer going to wests, they must see something in him which I don’t. I sincerely hope we don’t go with Myler at half back, lack of pace and age being my reasons. I am not even comfortable with him at full back, as I have posted previously he is adequate at fullback nothing more. Anyway we need 2 half backs not certain any available at the moment. Thought we might be interested in Salfords Croft, looks like Salford have given him a long term contract. So signing him could be expensive. Surely Smith must have some input from Australia regarding regarding availability of half backs.

| Fullback/halfback from the Newcastle knights. Former Aussies 7s player.
Apparently coming on a 3 year deal but nothing confirmed yet.

| Also worth noting that he has played limited games in the halves. Was playing at fullback this year before being dropped. Could be decent, but hardly the established half we need.

Played halves in the NSW cup since then. Dropped is the wrong word really, only really had one howler then was sacrificed so ponga could be protected.

| I haven't seen Miller play 6, but he's a dynamic fullback. Hooley showing he can at least be a good reserve fullback already makes the squad look a bit stronger. Be interesting to see if we go for more than one additional halfback. Mind you, just one good one will help.

| Miller seems in a similar (albeit probably slower) mould of Jai Field. Really good runner, can utilise space and get on the end of things. I don’t think he’s the sort of player who can control an attack, kick us into the right areas. If we could get a Hastings or similar alongside then I would be more confident. Just please not Myler! Sinfield might turn out to be great, but that’s still too much of an unknown to be heading into the next season as first choice!

Interesting watch, he's clearly very athletic and has ankle breakers for side steps. Remains to be seen what his defence would be like, they don't often show a back's defence on highlight reels, but if he's going to be at FB then I'd hope he can use his pace to cut down any attackers coming through the line.
Appears to be as dynamic as Dufty, Field or French so would partly address the pace gap we have. Potentially a good signing.

I dare say anyone who’s played top level 7s is at least decent defensively. There’s nowhere out there to hide.

| Its a bit weirdly timed to come out with that and almost simultaneously announce Miller. That announcement could have been cut and pasted from most of the last 8 years. The only difference this season is not needing to add the fact that we're in a relegation battle.
I like Miller as a signing. Lets hope we add a couple more players with real class.

| I’d be really interested to know what the Leeds Board consider is to lowest acceptable outcome in terms of League Position and CC progress before there are changes to the football operation?
We won’t ever be told, but if it’s not SF of the cup and top 4, then the board needs removing never mind anything else.

As you know, super league is extremely competitive and we believed we’d put together a strong team, along with Rohan, that could challenge, unfortunately…..
His spiel just rolls off the tongue. I know he’s not said that in the above article but I guarantee he’ll say something to that effect at some point.

| On the ambition front, it was weird to be bigging up a 15k crowd for a heavily marketed match (with 2 other matches at the stadium) when we used to average 16k.
I saw the release mid week about the Wigan match, laughable that they thought it would be relevant for the top 6 from a Leeds point of view.
I await further hollow press releases as we move towards the season ticket renewal/general sale windows.

I personally thought the 15 k crowd was excellent. I was also comparing it with other club’s attendance figures. My praise was based on the judgment that due to the dire state of super league it demonstrated that with a decent team we could command the biggest crowds. My other reason for my post was to highlight the attraction for summer Sunday afternoon games.
