| Quote: fanstanningley "Is that a fact as I've haven't read anywhere that it could have been career ending. Barrie Mac came back from a triple brake much later in his RL career.'"
Barrie did his when he was 24 in 97 hardly old, but it took him 2 years to get back to form and back until the team. if he was 32-33 probably game over.
If Newman is back in the team at all before may/June that will be a surprise never mind first choice. He will gave fight for his place this year or take his chance if others are injured. Hurrell Sutcliffe Broadbent Newman in that order at the moment, no way would we give Sutcliffe a 3 tear deal if he was nit a first choice starter.

But unfortunate you don't pick the side so it does not matter what role you can see for him. The club see him as a starter and currently first choice centre.
The club have tied up an hone grown local player who is 26 and coming into his prime. Good management for me.

I thought this was a message board for musings and opinions where nothing any of us say really matters?

| He was the best centre in the team in the second half of last season. Better defensively than Hurrell and was good in attack too. Might not be as explosive as Hurrell but he linked up well with Handley and scored some nice tries himself

It is, so my musings in response to your musings don’t really matter either.
The point was its ultimately the role the club see for him that matters. No offence was meant to be caused.

| Some good points re. Newman. He could be several months from fitness, and the last thing we want is for him to rush this.
I did wonder whether this length of deal for a centre could mean Hurrell is under pressure. I hope Konnie has a really good season and stays on personally: we lack strike players and he is one.
Done deal now so Sutty will start on the left (good because Hurrell stays on the right then); Broadbent, A Sutcliffe as replacements. Both will get games this year.

| Harry is a tough competitor and a tremendously tough kid but it will take time for him to get back to full form. This deal with Sutty buys Harry time to get back fully.
Liam played his best stuff since probably 2015 at the back end of last season. I was pleased to see him playing well and pleased hes got a new deal. There has been times i felt he needed a rocket putting up him but hopefully now he can kick on. Good luck to him.

| Read in an interview Agar laughed at the suggestion of Hurrell moving to the pack.

He’s still only 26 and some in her want rid because they see Newman Broadbent as the shiny new toys, if he ended up at Cas ripping it up some people would be like “why did we let a 26 year old go with his best years in front off him look at him now” we need to keep hold if as many home grown players as possible.

| Good luck to Liam for sure but I’ve not seen enough to make me think he will cut it in Leeds first 13 into the future.
I think we will need him this year, but it’s up to him to make centre his position. The thing that bugs me a bit is this whole narrative that it’s the club’s fault he’s been used as a utility. Maybe. But Sutcliffe hasn’t played well enough in any position to keep it. He wasn’t good enough at SO, wasn’t good enough in the back row by some distance for me, and centre is his best IMO but he has tough competition.
He is a talented player but things are changing at Leeds and you are going to have to be close to international class in every position to get a game soon. We will see.
